Description
This is a re-edit of my previous entry. I fixed it up a bit. This is NOT available as a print via DA, so MSG me if your interested...This was taken at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, MI in July of 2009.
Taken with a Canon 450D.
The wheels in the pic stand almost 7ft. tall for a total circumference of about 21ft. AKA, this train would travel 21ft for every stroke of the piston.

What a delight!
Bordering on symmetry but not quite. Wonderful range of tones. Very nice composition -- the out of balance is itself a wonderful balance.
On the constructive side, if you were to go in with the warp tool and or Liquify and correct the angularity of the vertical piece right in the top center it would balance better without damaging the accuracy of the capture.
It's clear you were shooting upwards. I wonder how much different the image would look if you'd been able to shoot straight across -- that would have minimized the view of the bottom side of that crosswise arm and also changed the shape of the wheel spokes -- not that it matters -- the image is wonderful.

Thank you. I hope to get out and try some more of this type of photography. I think in the end it ended up being a lucky capture, but now that I have a better idea of how they turn out I am excited to try more of it. I appreciate the advice, and will take a look at re-editing this again in the future. This really gives me some motivation to do some more serious industrial photos.

I really the slightly off symmetry, but most of all the way you've captured the metallic quality of the subject, the heaviness of the iron wheels, and the elegance of the steam age all at once.
Nice work!
