Description
It so happened that I began to have free time for doodling in, so I decided to do the thing where I 'learn' people by working out their elements until I can doodle them non-reffed and cartoony. And what better group of people to learn than the Pythons? This is a labour of boredom and only partially successful, but fun.As a general rule they start reff'ed on the left, unreff'ed on the right. A4 piece of paper. Downloadable in even more massive detail every-biro-slip size. This is probably more for me than for you.
Darling Graham, by far one of the easiest to do, good eyes hair and pipe is all you need, to be close, anyway.
But as for Mike, I've no idea what went wrong there. I thought he'd be easy with his lovely puppy dog features, but apparently not. Only about two Mikes there actually look like him. Needs more work. (Hah. 'Work'.)
John's easy to get the general idea of, but to be accurate requires attention to tiny details. Still haven't managed to make him look actually happy, heh.
Eric is the easiest to describe, seems he's entirely made of clearly defined features, so got him down quickly. Sharp crooked shoulders, get the grin right, done. Just don't mention the mouth on the last one. No, don't.
Terry J, fun hair. He's not actually that chubby in body, it's just face shape. There's some misconception that he's fat, he isn't. Not in Python era, anyway. Also he has cartoon teeth.
And Terry G, very tricky to find enough pictures of him in this era, thankfully I did or he'd look a lot more like Noodle from Gorillaz. Also thankfully he is an actual cartoon already, so non-reffing came fairly quickly.
So yes, getting there. Nearly right. This probably means Python fanart in future. Good good!

I love this so so so much. Especially John, I'm particularly impressed by him because I totally failed at drawing him the other day. I'm so glad you made the effort to include Terry Gilliam as well even though he does so little acting.
Michael Palin looks like how I draw Michael Palin. So how come I like yours and not mine?
I loved reading the annotations too. Funny how you described Michael as having 'Hypermobile Brows' because that's exactly what I thought about Eric.
As for Terry Jones being 'fat' I'd guess that that came from the Nude Organist because he seems to make himself look fatter there than anywhere else.
A beautiful page.
