Description
I just filled up my sketchbook. It was a 5X7" cheap-o brown moleskine. I think for my next one I will upgrade to the real moleskine - hopefully it has nicer paperMost of the drawings are from paused TV (a few internet or magazine thrown in). Please don't assume I like a show because I drew it - ha! I just took whatever was on at the time.
None of the drawings has been removed except for the occasional personal doodle, so you can see my mistakes alongside my (much rarer) successes.

Well, the only people who don't like firefly are people who haven't watched it. And scrubs is fun to draw - they make great faces.

Yes, apparently Rose is one of those people I can draw easily (as opposed to, say, Natalie Portman). As is Wash. Kaylee... she took a few tries. Inara and Jayne will take more work, and Simon is just IMPOSSIBLE.

All three pages are full of lovable goodness. They can be looked at, and looked at again.
I admire this style of sketching greatly and it is truly a delight that you have shared your sketchbook.
I hope there will be more....

Haha. I'd believe that if my finished work looked even slightly better than yours... and it doesn't!
Seriously, just being able to monkey-draw a picture on the TV does not a great artist make. I mean, I'm proud of the sketches, but my personal made-up-people doodles don't look anywhere near this good. The fact that you can create whole new people (and, uh, *things*...) - well, that's pretty damn amazing.

Well, I'm convinced that I take a billion times longer than the average person to finish something, so the time I put into something > the skill I put in.
In other words, I just keep banging my head against the wall until the blood pattern is pretty.

Haha. I understand. My (wretched, hateful) high school art teacher used to complain that I was "married to my work." I have trouble recognizing when something is a lost cause. On the upside, most lost causes can, in fact, be overworked until they are simply mediocre art.
