Tutorial requested by :devshowkaiser:, who is pretty much the GOD of everything. So there.

SO you get a million points because your tutorial helped me produce something that was actually worth putting my name on. Mind you, i still suck, but hey it was my first try. ^^ Thank you for creating this tutorial because it worked.

Thanks, that helps a lot! I have my own way of drawing anthro faces, and I was running into a few issues, but your tutorial was close enough to my style that I'd be comfortable following it, but different enough that I'd improve! Great job!

Wow, thank you soooo much.
I've tried anthro faces in the past, and they ended up looking like anime characters with a tumor on their face...
I've only done one, with this tutorial, and it looks half way decent! Thanks!

(I couldn't draw an... ovalesque circle though. Had to copy/paste. xP I fail.)

Btw, does copying an ovalesque circle count as art theft?

I'm so glad you like it! I have to admit this is horribly outdated, lol, I drew it forever ago, it seems x3

And I personally don't think it's art theft ^^

I love stuff like this. I have a distinct process for my own characters as well. I never had the patience for those drawing books, though im working with one for the classic american style... big guys with bigger chins... I swear, its all about the chin...

Lyenuv In reply to VulgarPuppy [2005-01-24 02:07:55 +0000 UTC]

Of course it's all about the chins, cause chin = glory X3

kuniobean [2005-01-18 02:36:35 +0000 UTC]

Aha! So THAT'S how you do the ears! I always have a hard time getting the ears to look feline. They always end up somewhere between an elf and a dog when I draw them. ;_;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lyenuv In reply to kuniobean [2005-01-24 02:14:45 +0000 UTC]

heeheee, kitty ears are almost always triangle shaped, too

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kuniobean In reply to Lyenuv [2005-01-24 03:18:03 +0000 UTC]

Well, it's not just the shape of the ear, it's also where the connect to the head. I've been making my heads too tall and the ears get shifted to the side, so then they look like doberman ears to me. Also, mine always end up pointy and when I try to make them nice rounded kitty ears like yours they come out all wrong somehow. XP

KensukeTheCat [2005-01-18 01:37:56 +0000 UTC]

Hurr... in many ways, we do it the same. In other aspects, we don't.
Guess we have our own styles, eh? I like yours, so keep it up!

madeline-marie [2005-01-17 23:23:22 +0000 UTC]

It's funny, because I NEVER plotted my drawings like that. In samples, I also drew the final product. ^^'

Lyenuv In reply to madeline-marie [2005-01-17 23:54:37 +0000 UTC]

Thats how I used to do it from the beginning, but now I just do the head withouth the placement refs. Like said above, this was mostly the experiment/tester tutorial, a better one is in the works ^_^

I have most likely 24-30 of those mdan expensive "How to draw manga" books, given as gifts by friends, but they never have done a thing for me, all I've learned I've done on my own, sadly.

Lyenuv In reply to kazekami [2005-01-17 02:09:20 +0000 UTC]

They are pretty good, howeer, for working on facial expressions. I have one htdm book that is used soley for expressions, and it's taught me a little.
