Description
Arches watercolour cold press A3 185 GSM, watercolour paint, acrylics & polychromos colour pencilsMy first attempt at a hippocampus! He's a mix between a white tipped shark, orca and a horse of course, to sort of give him the gypsy vanner look
I actually only started this drawing cos i wanted to draw clown fish at the time, not the orange ones, the (false anemone fish) badass black ones
and that greenish yellow stuff is my attempt at algae, im not so sure about it atm, i guess i'll get used to it

haha id love to strap it to the roof, not sure how mum would fare with that tho Aww poor pringle, at least she lived a long life, the longest i had a budgie was 4 years! Pringle doubled his age which is pretty impressive
Only problem with concreting is getting the ground even, its had several bunnies tunneling through it, erosion from heavy rains etc, good fun

Maybe you could put foam or some sheet on the roof to stop the wire scratching? or do you have a trailer? I'm getting excited now I really want this to work Yeah you're right with the concreting, I'v never done it before but I imagine it would be especially difficult with bunnies burrowing underneath...

its from my head, i only used reference for the coral, fish and orca patterns on the seahorses, i only use major references for realistic drawings, fantasy is all free-hand.

well you just need to remember where the light direction is in your artworks, mine comming from the left so everything on the right is supposed to be darker when not in the light. the left side of the rock tho has a hole which light comes out of to make the left have a light direction as well, but very subtle because i thought that it'd be too plain with just a blue/black shadow for a rock
not sure if it made sense at all

Are you left or right handed? I came across a weird survey that most left handed people mostly draw their characters/people/animals facing the right-hand side, right handers doing the opposite. I used to always draw my things going towards the right, but now i try to vary it a bit.
im glad you like my art, im just starting a watercolour painting at the moment, realism tho

hmm i am right handed^^ and the characters mostly look into the left side..where the light is...i..well if i draw them inverse they doesn't come out that good...
jeahhh your art is amazing..i will practise practise practise..maybe i will aomeday be in the near of that "goodness" not the same though..but may good^^

i reckon if you practised you will get alot better, ive seen alot of artists that keep on improving that way. You shouldnt really worry about lighting at first though, just make the object you are drawing how you want it and if you want some lighting, add it later, because sometimes when you worry about lighting, you get it wrong, i do it all the time!
Haha i have said the same thing as you to several artists i worship, i still hope i get as good as them, or even close to as good

well paint always works, the white highlights on this picture are done with white paint, you just need to be careful not to ruin the artwork by smudging the paint when still wet. Nah you arn't annoying, im happy to give advice Also another good way to add highlights is to colour over the spot you want with white pencil! it also makes it smoother and gets rid of that rough look pencils give.
