Description
Looked familiar... again?Yay, it's another remake from my previous artwork! Those who did follow up on my submission, it was the Motoko Kusanagi model featured in my Inner Universe that further inspired me to do Lightning since her resemblance is almost similar.
Since I do a remake of Inner Universe, definitely the artwork Tranquility must be remake as well? (LOL, I just couldn't stand but to have a sudden urge to do the remake)
But mind you first, this isn't the COMPLETED artwork but just a WIP (Yup, the same method which I did for Silent Dream). So basically, you would see this keep on changing from time to time and once the remake Tranquility is completed, the result will be different compare to what you see now.
Even though soon I will make this as my DeviantID but I would like to do a wallpaper instead since I believe it will be cool if put it as one. Furthermore, I did set this as my desktop wallpaper
Till its completion, see ya!

Thanks! Well, it's depends. Sometimes I used hard round brush or soft round brush (in Photoshop)with various of opacity. And then I sharpen the hair tip using soft brush of low opacity eraser.

Hey ur artwork's spectacular! Of course i'd wanna put it in! Well it's btr than anything i've ever done *bangs head* how did u manage to teach this to urself? Any tips on how i can practise digital painting and improve myself?

Hehe, I always observe on how people did their artwork and the little details they put into it. For realism artwork, details are the one that make them realistic. It's not really about technique. All you need is to explore every function of the Tools especially Paintbrush Tool, Dodge Tool, Burn Tool, History Brush Tool, Pen Tool etc. All those Filter and such, can be explored later. Once you learn the basic painting, you know how they work... then you go for details.
What I did, is set the History State as high as possible so you can undo easily. With that, you don't have to worry if you accidentally screwed up your artwork. Try your best not to left out the details because of laziness. Do not rush while doing your artwork. Even though it sounds like procrastinating, it just that you want to have the mood/ the feel of your artwork. You must put passion so you can continue drawing.
If I can do that, I'll be believe you can do the same too.

Mmmhmmm, i seem to not be able to get to that level of detailing u mentioned. I seem to be stuck after blending the majority of the colours and adding volume but that's it and i have no clue what else to do. Could u perhaps point out an example from one of your 'progress' pics?
π: 0 β©: 1
lyzeravern In reply to LeQueen [2010-05-21 10:14:40 +0000 UTC]
Hmm, frankly speaking... I don't have a good progress pics to show since most of them are acting as prove that I draw everything from scratch and nothing being photo-manipulated (yet some still think it is )
Oh yeah, if you really want to learn, I suggest you go for full artwork instead of learning on particular processes. Find some photo of a person (the one you like most) and then try drawing? I know it sounds noob, but that's the best way to learn everything at once.
You'll need lots of patience for a starter. It may not turn out good, so keep on do it until you got it right. Most importantly is what you see. Anything you see look awkward or awful, correct it until desired result shown. (Yeah, that's the factor why I took so long to draw).
In other words, artwork is about taking your own sweet time. If you feels not right, then it's no point of showing it to others. Most importantly, convince yourself first before you can convince others.

I'm alright in terms of drawing. of course i have a whole lot to improve on. Anatomy-wise i'm clocking in lots of practise. It's the painting that's a huge PITA. Haha. but i am using a photo referance to paint this latest piece and i hope it'll turn out ok.
i do agree that we have to take our time to get things right. A piece that's rushed out in a day won't look as well as one that u've taken time to craft. But if i had to convinve myself first? then i'll never be able to show anyone anything HAHA.
π: 0 β©: 1
lyzeravern In reply to LeQueen [2010-06-03 07:19:56 +0000 UTC]
LOL. What is PITA by the way?
To be honest, we'll never be satisfied on what we did. We always wish to be better than whatever we have now in hands. It's also similarly goes to the phrase, "No matter how good you're, definitely there will people better than you". To be better, it's a never ending process.
But if we don't show to people anything, we wouldn't know how far is our level. I used to try not showing my art to anyone and keep only too myself. I thought I already reached the level I want. But in the end, when I submit, I realize that there's lots more to improve based on the viewer's comment.
In other words, convince yourself that your artwork is worth for submission and others to see NOT to expect your art to be so much like the world's greatest arts when you know you're not that level yet.

Perfect. It's just .. IMO her neck is too wide for a woman
π: 0 β©: 1
lyzeravern In reply to Venneta [2009-04-22 16:14:13 +0000 UTC]
Yup, I realized that too... But perhaps it was due to that I overly put on too much highlight on her shoulder until it has made it narrow than original.
Anyway, this wasn't a real artwork cause I did mentioned it was a WIP. Probably when later I put her 'clothes' on in the process, her wide neck wouldn't be obvious...
