Usually you do rough animation first and from there, clean it and add details and such. Here I was probably lazy or was participating "animonthly" (monthly animation challenge I used to participate) which means time just ran out. But there are fundamental issues (nothing to do how rough the animation is), like how I animated weight, Eva-01 is massive, but I didn't manage to convey its weight properly.

Go for it! Better start sooner rather than later Book called "The Animator's Survival Kit" is good book to get, and look up the "12 principles of animation" if you are new to animation. Also draw a lot, everyday if you can. Learn perspective and anatomy, youtube channels like Proko and Moderndayjames are good start look that stuff up. If you are fan of anime and its animation, go site called Sakugabooru , it's filled with nicely animated stuff (good place for inspiration). first i gotta finish school, i dont have much spare time because of the huge amounts of homework i get. maybe ill come back in like 1,5 year. thanks for the tips.

Yeah of course! School comes first. Something I can recommend is to take time from somewhere else, like, if you like playing games, watch youtube etc. you can use that time to draw, of course you need to time to relax after school stuff and games etc, are good for that, you rarely want to work more after work haha. Just watch out the mentality of "I wait the right time to start" you can easily wait years for that time if you are not careful

is it really this bad? luckily i already draw in my free time, but i plan to take it to a more serious level when im done with school. playing games all day can get boring. and drawing is a lot of fun. and my only obstacle at the moment which prevents me from drawing is a jigsaw puzzle. its really nice to find a nice and supportive guy like you on this god forsaken site.

It's not bad, you just reach goals faster when you aim for it constantly. Of course to be efficient artist, it's good to have plan. Asking what your goals are, looking what you need to do and practice to reach that goal, is important: then you are not aimlessly practicing things which can waste time. Like I mentioned earlier, if you want to become animator, it's good to have good grasp of anatomy and perspective and of course not forgetting the basics of animation, understanding motion and such. But you need to search what those things includes since it's not as simple as, example, "just practice anatomy" it contains bunch of other things (not to mention perspective is part of it). Good to hear drawing is fun for you, that is the "talent" now you just need to harness it to reach greater heights. You get results when you work hard and smartly, I've seen great animators and the work they have putted to get that good, here's example of one animator stack of drawings: link If translator is to trust, he did these in 3 years and with intent and goal to learn. Lastly, I really recommend listening Proko's podcast called "Draftsmen Podcast ", there they talk how to learn and where to start and bunch of other things, good for motivation. Hopefully my words doesn't feel like I'm pressuring you haha, I'm more trying to give direction, give some keywords which hopefully helps you to do your own research when the time comes

No problem dude, it's better try things, then you'll have less regrets, at least that how I think You can tell your friend, I try to answer things, though I'm busy with animation work so it might take time
