NOTES
Honestly, the Nebulans featured in "The Rebirth" looked all awful, almost if their bodies were decaying and decomposing.
At the same time, some of them looked like Lithones. What the hell?
And finally, that miniseries was terribly rushed, but it was also full of interesting concepts and new fictional territories to explore.
For instance, a sub-group of Nebulans could control machinery and computers with their minds.
Mixing all these concepts, we came up with an explanation about their look and powers.
Also, we are stating that "real" Nebulans don't look like the ones seen in the cartoon: that's just one stage of their moult.
Who knows? Maybe now that Spike, Daniel (and Carly) are on their planet, the Nebulans will soon morph into Earth-looking creatures.
And yes, the Pretender tech is flexible enough to mix with organic DNA: it's Transformer tech, after all, isn't it?
Characters featured in this page: Lord Zarak, a non-Lithone, Mindwipe, Weirdwolf, Triggerhappy.

Great work all round. That last panel looks exceptional.
I always preferred the comics over the cartoons, but in the case of the Nebulons, I think the cartoon got it right by giving them green skin, instead of them looking exactly the same as humans like in the comics. Saying that, you've given a good explanation to their varying DNA (including the Lithone's appearance in Rebirth).

Thanks!
And yes, I agree about everything you say...
I just made the original Nebulans moe human-looking in the past because I didn't like their cartoon appearance
But, that said, who knows? Maybe it's humans that look like Nebulans, in Marvel comics, because they evolved first.
Also, who knows how life was spread in the universe? If comets and asteroids carried the chemical basis of DNA from one solar system to another, then we could really be related to the Nebulans.
(I also dare to suggest that some pre-existing civilization spread those life seeds... Celestials, maybe?)

Very very interesting and refreshing story.
I can't believe I only noticed a Lithone in the Rebirth cartoon the last time I watched it. How did I miss that???
The colouring is perfect. I especially love what Al did with the first panel.

It took me ages to realize what was wrong with the Hive members--then I read the wiki.
Sooner or later I'll have to chronicle the Pretender Wars as well
But the Assistant's story must come first!!
