Kopa was born shortly after Simba took the throne as his firstborn and only cub. His birth became a symbol of the hope and rebirth of Pridelands, and the prince himself grew up surrounded by universal love, both from his parents and his future subjects. He was a cheerful, friendly and trusting cub. Even too much... He made friendships easily and tried to help others when he had the opportunity, though he was reckless at times. And that's was his undoing.
One day, while he was playing in the savannah as usual, he heard a cry for help. It was coming from the Outlands, but Kopa couldn't ignore it. It could have been his hyena friend, Asante! Without thinking, he ran after the voice and saw who was calling for help. That was a little jackal, who injured his paw and was unable to walk. He was on the territory of the Outlands, and Kopa was heard many times that it was swarming with predators. But if he had left a pup, this one would surely die! Besides... It was not too far from the border with Pridenlands, if something gone wrong, he can surely be able escape home before something eats him, right?
He crossed the border and approached the jackal, offering help to get him to safety... But it was a trap.
The pup, suddenly recovered, jumped on Kopa, threw him down, and poor prince was instantly attecked by pup's parents, who had been waiting in hiding until then. Kopa died trying to escape the jaws of hungry jackals.
His death broke the hearts of his parents and everyone in the Pridelands mourned him. Everybody tried to forget about this tragedy, but Kopa's closest family never recovered after his death. It was forbidden to mention Kopa's name or even talking about him within earshot of king and queen. Kiara, Kion, Kishairi and Kishujaa never found out they had an older brother.

Here is my version of Kopa. You may remember him from here , but I changed his eyes and mane colors a bit. I also decided to make his adult design, because why not? As you can see, he would have inherited his mane after his great-great-grandpa, Chuki. His fur on elbows are the gift from Ahadi. Also, color of his fur would become darker and less saturated, more similar to his grandma Sarabi.
If he had lived, Kiara would have become the leader of the Lion Guard, but since Kopa died, she became the oldest surviving cub and heir to the throne after birth. So it was Kion, as the younger one, who automatically became the future leader.
