"Despite cold light and clean surfaces, the little lab nestled under the engine tank seemed to pulse with life. It was probably all the literal pulsing--anything with six sides and a resistance to acidity had been transformed into an incubation chamber, with glass windows revealing the tangles of biotechnology twitching and growing within. Most would be rejected, harvested for their DNA sequences and output data before being recycled into food for the others, but as Mavere poked his head into the chilly room, it was hard to not look fondly upon each of the mindless 'creatures'.

Next to the sprawling Federal labs Uja had started his work in, his new setup was about the same as growing cultures in a shower stall, but he'd managed to cram all of his incubators, analysis equipment, fluid pumps, refrigerators, and more into the former maintenance closet with a bit of room to spare. It wasn't hard to tell that everything had been harvested and repurposed from shipwrecks and junkyards, but while it wasn't exactly a magazine-worthy layout, Uja insisted that the stringent rules about what had room to stay had only made him more efficient. And at the heart of it all, he looked perfectly at home--a good pilot could grow their own machine from scratch, and he aimed to be great."

Uja just loves growing his little guys so much. This man could be a rancher in another life. instead he's making gooey engine blocks for meatships. they're cute in their own way.

(also im dying i hate coming up with bullshit text for screens why must yall speak modern languages. i hate you.)

november didn't really go how i'd planned but i still got lots of work done on... things i can't show yet lol. but I wanted to have at least one painting for myself finished and I had said when I sketched this back in like september that I'd work on this in november post-advent so.... here we are. did my best to keep it loose but you can really tell where i got a little too into it. XD
