"So, you're the one that's been causing all of this havoc?! Why? People deserve freedom and choice! Not blind obedience...I am Diana of Themyscia, Daughter of Hippolyta Queen of the Amazons. In the name of everything good in the world, I will destroy you! I fight on the side of justice and truth, and I most certainly won’t be beaten by the likes of you!”She scowls, drawing her blade and readying her shield. She looks ready for a fight to the death, and she doesn’t look particularly intent on losing.

"This is magnificent! Shall we begin the feast ladies?" *Diana seems to be itching to dig in*

With the exceptions of Lady Kane and Lady Mera, the others appear just as eager as Diana.
Katherine appears to be opting instead for a liquid lunch, taking a goblet and generously refilling her own cup of wine.
Mera, meanwhile, is looking rather sheepishly at a nearby plate of lobster.

*she giggles at Katherine, the looks at Mara with concern* Oh! I'm so sorry Lady Mara! I didn't mean to offend! Could we get her something less...fishy?

"Hmm? Oh, no, it's fine... I was just trying to work out if I knew him... Yes, it turns out. His name was Sebastian, he was my oldest childhood friend..."
She trails off, her bottom lip quivering.

*she blushes* Ohh...I'm sorry...*she stands up, moving as fast as she can in her poofy dress towards Mara* Please don't cry...

Mera's tears vanish in an instant, replaced by a grin. The second Diana is within range, she rises, planting a kiss on the princess's lips.
"I was joking, Diana. But thank you for your concern."
She winks back at Diana, casting a quick look around the room, before leaning in for a conspiratorial whisper.
"This is hardly the most romantic of settings... I think I saw a pool outside, meet me there in five minutes."

*Diana's face is completely red as she is kissed* B-but...I'm hungry and mother told me to be good...

"The Queen wants you to find love, does she not? Well, a room full of people scattered around a table this size is hardly the setting for that... Tell you what, I'll make it easier for you."
A second, quick kiss on the cheek before Mera steps back, pulling a quick little twirl, her scaled dress seeming to shimmer as it spins out around her. It's not now, until they were stood up, that Diana noticed Mera's dress was split up the side, revealing almost the entirety of her smooth, slender legs.
She totters a few steps away, the turns to Diana and winks.
"Oh... Oooohh..." Mera doubles over, clutching at her tummy. "Oh... Perhaps that seafood upset my delicate sensibilities more than I thought... Your highness, would you mind showing me to your bathrooms?"

*Diana nods, almost hypnotized by the woman from the sea's legs as she too totters after her* Right this way...

Virtually the second they are away from the main hall, Mera looks around and, confirming there is nobody else around, she grabs hold of Diana's wrist and begins to run, practically dragging the dumbstruck Diana after her.

"Huh...? Where are we going wahh!" *she lets out a shocked cry as Mara grabs her wrist*

Mera laughs at Diana's startled reaction, a playful, musical whoop of pure, unbridled joy.
"Come on! Try to keep up, your highness!"

*she can barely keep up in her big dress* I'm trying!!!!

"Come on! It's not far!" Mera calls back over her shoulder, running through the hallways with a reckless abandon.
They pass one of Diana's maids, very narrowly avoiding knocking the poor servant over.

*she cries out a sorry as they zoom past her* Where are we going?!?!

"If I tell you, that'll spoil the surprise..."

"Well...are we almost there at least?"

"Almost..." she drags Diana around a corner, and suddenly they are outside, running through the lush green gardens surrounding the palace. They weave through the massive hedge maze, quickly becoming completely and absolutely lost...

"Where have you taken me? Even I have no clue where we are..."

"How big IS this place?"
Mera rounds another corner in the hedge maze, skidding to a halt with a big smile on her face.
Just ahead of the pair of them is a large, sparkling blue pool, it's centre filled with a tall, marble sculpture of the Goddess... Something about her looks awfully familiar, but Diana just can't quite place it...
Mera turns to Diana, grinning.

Diana stares at it, mildly spellbound
"Uhm...I feel like I've been here before..."
She puts on a pouty face as she tries with all her might to remember

Mera, in turn, mirrors Diana's pout.
"You know, you have the cutest little face..."

Diana's pout vanishes, replaced by the face a blushing bride would make at the altar.
"R-really? That's nice of you..."

The pretty redhead waits expectantly, playfully chewing on her bottom lip.
"Well... Now it's your turn... Shower me in your adoration, little Amazon."
She says, with a giggle.

This causes Diana to sputter awkwardly, also in turn causing her to shift her weight from side to side.
"You have really pretty red hair...."

Mera raises an eyebrow.
"Really? Is that the best you can do?"

This causes poor Diana to flush red, her first time flirting with a woman going terribly. She looks down in dismay
"Unfortunately, yes."

Mera giggles, gently cupping Diana's chin and tilting her head up to look her in the eyes.
"Well, that was a truly feeble effort, Princess. You're lucky you're probably the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, otherwise you'd really be in trouble."

The pout returns once more.
"I can fight....flirting just really isn't a battle I can win."

"Well, if it makes you feel any better..." Mera whispers, delicately reaching up and taking a lock of Diana's hair in her fingers, absently twirling it around in her grip. "Your hair is very nice too, Diana. Although..."
A thoughtful frown creases her brow...

Diana lets out a silent whimper, wanting to know what's the matter.
"What is it Princess Mara?"
She takes her other hand, holding it

"Oh... I just thought of a way to make your hair look even nicer..."

This reassures poor Diana, so desperate to please this woman.
"Please show me...I'd love to see it..."

"Okay..."
Mera winks, then places her hands on Diana's shoulders and gives the very gentlest of pushes... Sending Diana tumbling down into the pool!
It's water is crisp and cool, and deep enough to totally submerge Diana.

Diana yelps in shock as she's submerged in the cool water. She's able to keep her balance in the water just fine, due to her amazon training

Mera's joyful, musical laughter fills her ears, and suddenly Diana finds it rather impossible to be angry about this...
As she fights to maintain a mostly upright position, her wet hair sticks itself to her face, practically welding itself to her cheeks and forehead as it cascades over her shoulders.

Diana now makes the attempt to resurface, her hair now flying behind her gracefully as she heads towards the peak of the water.

Mera waits for her by the edge of the pool, giggling uncontrollably at the waterlogged Princess.

Diana is soaked, her beautiful dress all wet and soggy along with her hair.
"That wasn't funny!"
Her pout curls slowly down into a frown as she looks down at her poor dress, the thing her mother had been so happy to see her in.

Mera does her best to hide her laughter, doing a rather feeble job.
"Well... It was a little bit funny... Sorry about your dress, Diana, but the idea just came to me and... You're not mad, are you?"
A note of genuine concern seeps into Mera's voice.
"Diana, I... Are you crying?"

Diana wipes away a few tears, the poor woman devastated that her mother's pride and joy of a dress was now ruined. "My mother...was so happy about the dress, and now it's ruined. The goddess won't be happy with me running off either...we have to go back."

"But... Aren't you having fun, Diana? I... I just wanted to be alone with you for a little while..."
Mera thinks for a moment. And then, without another word, she kicks off her shoes and lowers herself into the pool with Diana, her flame red hair and shimmering green dress spreading out behind her as she swims over to the Princess.
"I didn't mean to upset you, Diana, but-"

The princess looks up at the red headed Lady of the Sea, tears flowing down her cheeks.

Mera trails off, her humour most definitely subdued by Diana's tears.
In a quiet voice, she continues.
"You really do look beautiful, right now..."

Diana sniffles, pulling Mera into a tight hug
"I'm glad you think so...but everyone else will think I look foolish...as will the goddess."

Mera hugs Diana back, her legs windmilling to keep her afloat.
"Who cares about them? And besides, you could never look anything less than wonderful, Diana."

"I suppose they don't really matter...but mother said that I had to be good for the goddess today...and running out on my own dinner doesn't seem very good."

"If I'm not wrong, the whole point of that dinner was to find you a lover..."

"I suppose...and I guess mother never did tell me what goddess I was to be good for...so maybe it was just a ploy of hers to get me to act civil..."

Mera frowns, puzzled.
"What goddess? THE Goddess, of course..." she says, nodding towards the fountain behind them.
