So over on Twitter, I've been having a little fun. It kinda started off as a little stress relief between commissions and during work break hours. And it evolved into something that's kinda become my most popular thing I do there.

The project idea is to retro-design the characters, using the design motifs that were using during the 2002-2003 series. For those that remember Armada, it wasn't particular known for character accuracy. Someone who looks just like Wheeljack was called Downshift, and that's because someone who looked just like Sideswipe was called Wheeljack, and someone who looked like Nightbeat was called Side Swipe... And so on and so forth. I only have three rules: Keep the same color scheme as their traditional colors, give actual thought how the transformation methods and the action feature actually worked, and no using characters that had established Unicron Trilogy counterparts. (Though it's not always perfect!)

You all saw Windblade from earlier. So one night, I decided why not actually write up a bio for her? And the rest is history. I have done five of these so far and I have five more on deck, and then I'm gonna jump to Energon. The idea is to use the fore-knowledge of what's to come in Energon and Cybertron to flesh out the world a bit more. (For the record, I treat these as an extension of the Dreamwave Armada comic and not the cartoon.)

And the last one for now is Bumblebee... Who took me a few to remember that there was no Armada Bumblebee, as Hasbro didn't have the name rights at that time. So it was a natural pick.
