Okay, I don't really do a lot of Transformer Fanart anymore... But I've been having this hankering to draw Override here. I trust if you've already read this far, you're probably familiar with the sex change of the character from being a male (Nitro Convoy) in Japan to a female (Override) here.I prefer Override. I'm sorry, but the name Nitro Convoy makes me think of an American Gladiator. That's not a good thing.

Nostalgia! As a kid, Transformers Cybertron was my first introduction to the cartoons. (Previously, I'd only seen the older action figures. And I didn't get any channels with cartoons until my family moved.)
Being young, I didn't mind the English dub (which makes me cringe now). I only cared that there were giant talking robots who turned into cars, and Optimus Prime was my favorite.Β
And then I saw Override for the first time, and realized that there were female Transformers. That was actually pretty important to me as a young girl, since the other cartoons the channel played were sadly lacking in interesting female characters, I'm afraid.
Your drawing (which is awesome, by the way) brought back a lot of good memories.Β
Sorry for the super long comment.

Lovely. And the animation model is more slender than the toy. I notice that there's more deviation amongst the animation models of the early cast, because they were based on earlier versions of the toys. Thundercracker is a good example. He was originally intended to be a bit larger and have a retractable head. Optimus' backpack had differently positioned wings and longer cannons, plus different thruster sculpts. Override is a girl. I think the change was a good one. A better character than Nitro Convoy, and besides, NC's animation model is less masculine than BWII Starscream.[link]

Nice feminization of the figure. I don't think all Transformers femmes have to fig the Blackarachnia hourglass figure but the toy looks retarded even as a male.

I think you made her a little too feminine. Her shoulders are naturally broad and she doesn't have the emphasized female lips or slim waist that you've given her.
It's pretty, but it's not Override.

Well the goal of the picture was to draw her in a more feminine form, as opposed to the masculine "Nitro Convoy" look she's normally appointed with. It's not really all that different than the overly bulky forms that many artists (meself included!) had given various Transformers over the years. Or even as something as simple as drawing Batman with long pointy ears as opposed to a short stubby ones. Doesn't make it wrong, just a different interpetation. And that's really what the purest eccense of what art is... An interpetation by the artist.

Well, yeah. But I just feel that making her look more feminine takes away some of her more...er...masculine aspects. Also makes it harder for her to transform.

It's a genuine shame that you don't do more Transformers work, as you are one of the best fan-artists I have ever had the joy to behold, without question! I recall seeing some character designs you did for the moderators of a website some time ago that were simply phenomonal, and I've been a huge fan of your distinctive style ever since. You have no idea how happy I was to discover recently that you were, in fact, a fellow DeviantARTIST! I notice that the designs I mention are not in your gallery, but perhaps this is due to legal/permission issues?
Regardless, this is a triumphant return to Transfandom by your eminently talented self. The sheer liveliness that is characteristic of your work abounds from this example to exhilerating effect. There is so much personality displayed in her facial expression, with a dynamic richness to the presentation. Your lines are crisp and clean, and the perspective of the angular form is flawlessly maintained. You've managed to embue the figure with distinctly feminine qualities, without resorting to crass sexual clichΓ©, which is no mean feat. Colour is richly applied, with appropriate shading for depth and body. Visual effects have been put to good use, with the blurring of the legs suggesting rapidity of movement, a state further emphasized by the employment of speed-lines that sufficiently make up the backdrop. This is a very well done illustration, and I heartily hope that this is but the first of a series that we might be seeing from you in the future. Please keep up the astounding work; you are an inspiration.

i like seeing everyone else's female interpertation of her... for the most part, she's not really that hard to change. just slim down a lot of the parts. anyways, you did a great job! the running pose looks good too and i love the background effects.

But does she need to be changed?
