Sometimes the simpler pieces have better character. Nothing is cluttered; the focus is on the main subject, bringing full attention to it. Balance by =timeodd is a prime example of this. The atmosphere is calm and tranquil. Simplicity, therefore, is a necessity. The silhouette of the branches contributes beautifully to the relaxation of this photograph. The border has also been chosen very appropriately; it is not overwhelming & therefore does not take away any attention from the subject of this piece. There is not one thing i can negatively critique. I guess I'm not surprised this Balance received a daily deviation. =timeodd conveyed everything fantastically.

This is very strange to me almost sicking, but then again my mind stays in the macabre view of life. But i also see the beauty in this and is very well done.

It's not too hard. Set up a tripod because you need a longer exposure. It's better to use a telephoto lens so you can zoom in and isolate the subject from anything else. Set the aperture to something small, like f/18 or f/20, and set the ISO to something low, like 100 or 200. Then overexpose a little and take a photo. In post processing, adjust curves and contrast, make the darks darker and the lights lighter. That's about it.

Thought for a second it would be the logo of a black metal band.
Turned out to be even better!
