Description
My take on the First Order Tie Fighters. The Classic Tie fighter is such a great design and it lends itself to endless iterations. I wanted the designs to reflect the First Order: aggressive, militant, hostile.

First Order TIE Fighters: "We're back, and this time, we're ready to STAB some motherfuckers!"
But seriously, these are great designs. I'm still baffled that "The Force Awakens", set years after the original trilogy, didn't have the nerve to introduce any new fighter designs, while "Rogue One", set immediately before and during the original trilogy, did have the nerve to introduce new designs and found a way to make them feel right at home.

Thanks. I think Disney was playing it safe. No new stuff until they knew the audience was on board.

I'm in total and complete love with the top-left one. It's a total callback to the chiss clawfighter that is one of my favorite star wars ships ever.

I love A. Very well thought out design that gives a lot of potential for all sorts of good stuff.
B has the same issue that the regular TIE fighter has, in that it looks cool and has a lot of versitility, but those wings totally shoot your field of vision in the foot. How is the pilot supposed to be able to see anything to the left or right of himself?
C is cool looking, but looks really fragile, like even a basic glancing shot would take it down. But then it also looks really fast and like it'd be good at dodging shots rather than taking them head on. Better for scouting than anything else probably.
All in all, cool designs. A is my favorite by a decent bit though.

I like how no one considers that sith temples do still exist.
just because the empire was defeated, doesn't mean the sith were.

Wicked designs, A has to be my favourite. Sort of reminiscent of both the TIE Interceptor and the X-Wing, like it's the First Order's response to the Resistance's T-70.
B is more of an evolution of the original TIE frame but is still cool in its own right.
C appears better suited for scouting/spying missions than A and B, so I think taking off some of its guns wouldn't go amiss.
I'm currently working on an animated SW fanfilm project and I need to give the antagonist a special TIE design. Would it be alright if I drew inspiration from yours, A specifically?

I really wish Episode VII had given us something along the lines of this; innovative and refreshingly new, but still a logical development of the TIE platform. Instead, they made the original TIE slightly larger and painted it black. >_<

Hopefully we'll see some new Tie Fighter designs in the future films.

As you say, they lend themselves to endless iterations, but nonetheless these are excellent examples! You've certainly achieved aggression and hostility in their form, they look mean as hell. I would say though that they have an almost venomous character about them in their sharp angles and elongated forms, which I wouldn't personally associate with the First Order, but perhaps would relate more directly to the Sith, like some sort of custom build for a Sith Lord or apprentice. Nice work on these, they're the strongest TIE Fighter interpretations I've seen!

Thanks. These actually began as sketches for the Knight's of Ren ship ideas. So your not too far off.

Cool! Maybe you can make them resemble the tie phantom and stuff.
