Billy and her self constructed robot, S.P.A.D.E - Steam Powered Automatic Defence Engine. Billy is not like most other girls, much to the dismay of her father Barnabus. She's a complete and utter tomboy who is out to prove to her dad just how good a mechanic and inventor she is and that just because she's a girl she doesn't have to conform to society's notions! She recently moved to London to establish her own workshop specialising in robotic repairs and maintenance. Her neighbour Wilfred has gone missing, so she is accompanying his sister Penny on a journey to find him and help maintain Penny's mechanical guardian, Farthing.
