mark menifield drew trees slightly like that once for a comic book cover. i thought it was so neat, i decided to run with it and never look back.

Freakishly-wonderful and beautifully-disturbing! Jeremy, I so enjoy the recurring motifs of the Zoo Heads and the antenna trees. Their hypnotized, calm gaze skyward fills me with a slight dread... what could it be? Or worse, is there no gaze at all, only No Thought? I'm listening to an appropriate soundtrack right now: "Laughing Quarter" by Autechre, with just a hint of ominous. Wonderful work, J.

hey thanks a lot roger. i truly am consistently blown away by your support and appreciation of my work. i really like your latest pieces. you have a whimsical sense of humor. i think it is great and would encourage you to continue with it, expand upon it, explore it. i would love to see huge paintings modeled after these most recent, and brilliant, drawings of yours. cheers.

Jeremy, your comments are welcome encouragement, thank you for your kindness. I long to paint, as it's really been since college (nearly 30 years... where did all that the time go? -- Laughing!), and I most certainly would turn to these smallish drawings as my guide for something big (always loved doing that, big iconic "marks" as paintings). Because of your encouragement, I'm setting a goal, for this year, to make some big paintings, in the very least, one. There, it's set, you witnessed it. (Laughing!) Cheers, my friend.

Haha! Weird stuff! Couldn't help an associated vision from entering my mind:
Envisioning rows of tombstones looking annoyed in the direction of one in the center being asleep, snoring loudly. "R.I.P"

Your picture invites clearly to creative reflection, so, as I see it, part of the credit belongs to you anyway.
