yeah, i like this!
it's sometimes hard to get detail on the brighter areas of an photo while keeping the details on the darker areas...
when i did photography classes, when i was developing traditional film in the darkroom, i used to do this by exposing the film with masks, so that it would reveal more details on the brighter areas, and at the same detail, making sure the darker areas didn't get so dark and lose detail. but i don't know how can you do this kind of thing in digital photographies, which i assume is the one you use.
i don't really mind the white sky, and i dig the lower part of the photo... in a way, the white sky kind of balances the picture, making you look to the vegetation and the elephant.
again, pretty animal you photographed! must have been a nice trip!

I agree on the balance, and I think I'll make a Black&White version, which I really like too (my actual wallpaper right now ^^)
