Description
So I didn't have the right dual pistols for the Lara Croft costume, but I do now!
Here is my way of how I painted the dual pistols into the right color.

Looks like an excellent transformation. They must feel very light though. I was thinking, if you wanted to make them feel more realistic, maybe you could pack the inside with plasticine, or put something else heavy inside.

My guess is, it would help you forget that they're toys, and you'd enjoy the weightier feel. Maybe you'd also have to beef up your holster assembly though, to handle the new weight.

Did you leave some orange on the tip? Most conventions don't allow any sort of gun without out the orange tip anymore. Great Tutorial though!

Yes I did 
If you look closely, you can see a bit orange. I thought the original orange 'tip' was too much, so I left only at front the orange unpainted.

The "black thingies" are called "grips"
Nice job! I wish I had put this kind of work into the Fallout Vault Suit I made for San Diego Comic-Con in 2010, but it was my first cosplay and I hadn't done my research. Still came out ok. Misplaced the pictures, though

Yeah, it takes a lot of patience and thinking to do everything piece by piece. I find myself skipping parts when making cosplay props/outfits. So I'm really glad when I take the time to do so as with the pistols.

By the way you could also buy air soft guns. They look more realistic than spray-painted toy guns.
