Description
MLP Musical Ferris Wheel. Be sure to see the video!EBAY : [link]
VIDEO : [link]
It plays Waltz of the Flowers as it spins.
Watch Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Derpy and Doctor Whooves spin around on this 11 inch tall musical ferris wheel that works just like the real thing.
This one was not easy making them all fit and be balanced.Derpy and Dr. Whooves were actually supposed to be Luna and Celestia but I destroyed them in a tantrum along the way because they were top heavy due to their manes and wouldn't stay upright. I also wish I had a better camera. Hope you like it
Made by me, blah, blah, blah......

So far....me! Ebay is so bad now that it didn't get me opening bid of $149 and there is NO WAY I would sell it for less than that. $249 okay (even though that price is low to me), but $149...no way! It took so long to make hose little ponies and make the weight balanced enough that it would spin!!! So yeah, for now it is sitting on my shelf

Oh ;3 I hope it eventually goes to a good home, and if not, well, you get to keep it!

Well, as long as Ebay and pony sales remain the way they currently are it will probably end up on my mom's shelf

Excellent work, and yeah, as a mechanical engineering student, I'm well acquainted with getting things balanced.

Yeah, it was a pain. the wheel actually spins slower than it should because the chairs were meant to be empty and the motor is weak but if the weight was unbalanced it wouldn't spin at all.

True. I do like that you were able to get it to work at all, especially considering it wasn't designed to have occupants in the seats.

the more difficult one was my fluttershy cuckoo clock. that one was very difficult to make work.

I can imagine, especially trying to get the pendulum to swing properly with an oddly-shaped weight like that.

MadPonyScientist In reply to MillenniumFalsehood [2012-09-13 20:52:08 +0000 UTC]
Surprisingly, the pendulum didn't give me any problem. the platform that Fluttershy stands on has a very weak motor and she was too heavy, I had to drill a bunch of holes in the back of her and then if the was too far forward on the platform it still wouldn't work so I had to keep trying to find a position that worked. then there was a light sensor issue and getting a recording that didn't sound creepy. oh...just too many hours!

Regarding the recording, yeah, I can see how you'd have trouble finding one that didn't sound creepy.

that is so funny because you seem so different. most carny's are really pushy and often rude from what i've experienced.

i know carny "families" are always tight and close but the ones i've encountered out here in CA have been rude to me personally for no reason. not every time, but occasionally. glad yours was nice!

Thank you. It was difficult getting the weight and balance correct. It spins a little slower than normal because of the weight of the ponies but it's still cool
