This is the coolest thing I have ever seen. The elephant seems much bigger than it would be in real life.... but then again this isn't real life. Fantastic work!

Thanks alot mate Yeah about the size, i wanted to make it so big that it would totaly dominate the frame and setting. But then again, i dont think Giant Warpainted Battle Elephants can ever get to big

You have done everything very very well ... i love how the elephant's legs are loosing grip, this gave the picture an epic motion
the background and the birds show an interesting attention of general details
great piece

Thank you very much my friend yeah, i think it was important to give the elephant a slight feel of being out of balance. This builds on the brutal and epic appearance of the animal. And thank you for mentioning the background details. Those trebuches are just enough to tell the story of where we are and create a deeper scenery
Thanks again

There is nothing wrong with having giant war elephants running amok in one's imagination when the end result is as good as this.

No giant war elephants?! This book sucks then!
But seriously, the level of "coolness" of this work hits the roof so to speak We need more giant war elephants in our fiction!
(Luckily in Skyrim will be mammoths! Half shorter but that's at least something
)

Hi Ghost Well, its pretty exiting besides the obvious lack of war elephants. And thanx mate, i was really trying to create a cool action scene in this one. So im quite happy that it "hits" the roof
Ooh and yeah, i cant wait for Skyrim. Thats a game that will steal away the winter. Bethesda release another trailer soon

By exiting you mean Friday the 13th and greedy French King "Philip the Fair" (oh, historical irony, how I missed you )?
My pleasure ^^ Yep, Skyrim and new Batman before new TES will totally annihilate my studies
Oh, and btw, who will be your first Dragonborn?
For the first time in the series I am considering choosing an Orc cause they look bad-ass

exiting like its violent and brutal in a good old medieval way. Its full of epic scenes and scenerys, and holds alot of romantic storys like a knights story would Ohh man i know what you mean, Skyrim is really gonna steal alot of time.. I actually hadnt checked out the character classes before you mentioned it. And i agree, the ogres really look awesome

Sounds like good old hardcore Middle Ages ;D I think skills/classes (I will make my own class anyway ) are mostly the same as in Oblivion (enchanted with perks à la Fallout and with a new cool looking menu where each skill is a constellation of stars) but I can be wrong. Dual wielding spells looks interesting... oh well, still two months to make out my mind

I think its a huge step up from Oblivion. Skyrim will have more indepth story and characters, not as randomly generated as Oblivion. Vastly improved Ai and craphics. Simpler Gui and interface as you say Christ im afraid to buy it

It is indeed and a solid one from mods Yep, it looks like Skyrim will be a great sequel in most ways ^^ A propos, do you know that in Skyrim you will be able to marry almost any NPC? Argonian-Khajiit marriage ftw!

I have a particular affinity for the crusades, so this is quite a pleasure to see. The textures of the elephant and the sand are really quite striking. Although the knights would have had to have some scaffolding to reach its head to paint, wouldn't they?
Templars get all the attention, but I've always found the knights Hospitaller to be just as interesting--and the order still exists!

Madspeitersen In reply to Fereshteh [2011-09-04 12:36:14 +0000 UTC]
Thanx for your great comment Haha yeah i actually never thought about that. They could even had build a giant stable. Where they would construct the armor and so on around it. Almost like the inside of a shipyard
Ooh and those Hospitaller looks epic and mystical. I really like the looks of their dark cloaks. thanks for letting me know
