This is breathtaking! You really pulled off displaying the enormity of the elephant. Great textures and choice of colors too. Such a joy to look at.

thanks alot, theres alot of hard work put in that. So comments like this means alot Yeah i think its importent that the elephant keept slow and heavy in its pose. So that it would still fel grunded and not be too fantasy. And thx, to settle on a simple color palette early on is always a great trick

you've got some great textures but not sure about some of the strokes on the ears.
all the surfaces and details are impressive

Haha, yeah those ears. I think its importent to give the illusion that they are not solid. But more of a loose dangly shape. And About the strokes, i am always having trouble of knowing where to stop and letting the piece go. So actually the strokes are for myself leaving pieces of the painting in ruff sketchform Dont know if that makes sense. thanks alot mate

You've piqued my interest to read this book, by the way. If it inspired someone to make this, it must be a pretty good book.

haha what an great comment Yeah thats what i thought. I did a few reseach on the topic while painting. Apparently they had a Battle Flag with the crescent moon and the star on each side of the red cross. Dont know if its true though, but thought it was cool so used it

Btw, the books are pretty awesome. I myself are a sucker for historical and epic novels. Theres no fantasy battle elephants in it though. Its very historical accurate
