Description Here's just an example for people who are out of ideas for the first challenge of Le Beau Monde.

I based it on my own school colors of black and grey, and then added some gold tones to keep it from being TOO completely depressing.

Materials:
-Long Jacket: polyester/wool/rayon blend, gold (painted) buttons (on shoulders, too). Collar designed to be worn up.
-Sleeveless vest: Cotton, with shinier thread running under the bust and black embroidery thread for the designs.
-Silk faille light gold skirt
-Sheer black tights
-Black suede boots
-black sheer layering turtleneck

Notice how I kept it youthful (long, v. fitted jacket; layering, high boots, black tights, short skirt, etc) but it still is basically a uniform. Also note how I went beyond a basic outfit and gave it some unique touches (length of jacket, silhouette of vest, etc). I would actually recommend for people to go even *beyond* this. Make it really innovative (but still cute!) Do interesting skirts (or even shorts!), try different types of jackets, and don't forget about styling (you know, those random little accessories, hair, etc) which can really help in the end.

Oh, man . . .

I so wish my stupid-ass Catholic high school had uniforms like that! But no. We had pants. That's right, the girls had freaking pants (which were really short on me even after I let them down) and oxford-cloth button down shirts . . . and school sweaters. Gaaaaa, it was awful
