Description
wow.... so ive finally gotten to making this tutorial... i hope it is not to difficult to understand since i am not particularly good with words, and my shading technique is kind of intuitive ^^ but people have been asking me to make a tutorial on my technique and i have promised that i would make one, so here goes.Related content

wooooowwww thank you so much for this tutorial!!! its so nice that u took the time to do this... i love how you can see step by nstep how you shade a drawing from beginning to end. and it s not so bad with the scanner problems, it is still clear what you point you want to bring across.Β

ohh thank you thank you . Here's a question , how do you decide which part of the drawing you will sketch first ? like where is the best starting point ? . thank you in advance

haha, youre welcome i m gad you like it!! okay... im not exactly sure what you are talking about? do mean where i start shading? because if thats what you mean i wrote about that in the tutorial, my teachers taught me to start on the right side because i am lefthanded, and then work my way to the left so i dont smudge the drawing... but i just dont like doing that ^^ so i start anywhere i want and usually somewhere in the middle and then just put a spare sheet of paper under my hand/arm to avoid smudging
but if i understand you correctly you are asking where to start the initial sketch? as in how to start with the overall proportions. for that i have to say i work pretty intuitively... there are a lot of ways and thechniques you can use to get the proportions right, and there are a lot of helpful tutorials here on dA for that ^^ for me, i usually start by drawing the outlines of the whole head, and like the jaw and cheekbones and then estimate more or less where the rest should be going from there.. i m really sorry its so difficult for me to explain because i dont really use any special technique or guidelines to get the proportions right... i just ... yeah... draw intuitively i guess... although that does force me to start over sometimes because i didnt get the proportions right ^^

One book I read just said shade the left side of the page first (if you're right handed. Vice versa for left) so you don't smudge.
