Love the textures and colors, it's so fantasy, it's like I'll find a pot of gold at the top.

Very nice. Are acrylics hard to work with?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MagdalenaTR In reply to Raggybabe [2006-01-15 19:13:19 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Well, they can be hard at first, but you just have to learn how to work with them. If you have used oils before, they might be hard because they dry very fast.

Oh, that's wonderful! The thumbnail you posted looked like a photo! When I looked at the full-view the only thing that threw me off was the type of brush stroke you used for the steps. They seem like they're made out of small rocks now because of your short strokes!

EclecticSarcasm [2005-10-22 02:00:09 +0000 UTC]

Nice perspective on the steps as well as texture. They look real. The one part of the painting that i think could use some more detail and definition is the greenery in the top left corner.

I chose this one, because I'm into photography, and I thought this was a photograph. Now granted, the thumbnails are small, but that should still be a compliment. I love the composition, and you really have done a great job of making it not only look, but feel lush. And there is just enough of abstractedness in it for me....still recognizable, but not complete realism. Great job.

really nice art...
Id check on the upper left side of the green area... looks a little "boxy"... makes me feel the jungle feeling a little and looks more like a groomed path thru it
(maybe that was the point) but I think it would look better on a more "natural" state

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Rocketo In reply to Rocketo [2005-09-20 18:30:35 +0000 UTC]

ok np
just that it looked like a groomed garden... not a jungle
u know, like walking in a park instead of jungle? (we gettin it? )
looks good
cya
sorry for the confusion

DesertEz [2005-09-16 16:26:33 +0000 UTC]

nicely done! i love the daubs of paint. im not seeing enough depth tho. the leaves on the left that arent done in daubs stands out a lil cuz of the different style. usually its ony one style in a painting but here it doesnt do too much damage.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MagdalenaTR In reply to DesertEz [2005-09-16 16:34:28 +0000 UTC]

actually... I hate the leaves on the left... they stand out way too much.

Nice observation on lights and darks. Great texturing here too. I'm stalking this pic, as I like forest paths and shaded areas.

wow. this is beautiful. I love your naturalistic/impressionistic style!! I know that is kind of an oxymoron, but that is the only thing I can think to descibe your style!! I love it! the contrast of the grey and green is very pretty.

Very good painting - with the steps leading towards the audience has a realistic effect.

I need to do more watercolor and acrylic.. stuck on computer art.

I don't have any critiques/tips, but this is going to be my first favorite!
