I actually would like to toot my own horn with this one. Was able to combine two different drawings of the characters onto a background on GIMP. Hooway!-ahem- Anyhoo, got in touch with an old high school friend who was as just a big a fan of Final Fantasy 9 as I was. Talking a bit more with him, he went into a couple role-plays he did, we shared some fan fic bases and such and I went into my art stuff. In the end, he commissioned me to illustrate a reunion scene between Vivi and Eiko.
In the fan fiction idea this was based off of, Vivi was actually a prototype for a black waltz, which was the reason he aged more like a human than a black mage. When he hit the age of 13, he basically went full blown waltz and went into isolation, afraid he would hurt someone close to him. several years passed and no one saw hide nor hair of the black mage, the only thing that finally brought him back to his friends was an invitation to Eiko's marriage.
Really, I had more fun designing older Eiko. Trying to keep the outfits similar so they'd be more recognizable, but...I dunno. I also loved drawing Vivi's wings. XD

Oh God, it was a fan fic that I wrote back in Junior High that he was my beta reader/editor for. I've deleted it long since then, though I've been mulling over rewriting it. I've had black mages on the brain lately, but I have to finish up a Portal fan fiction I've been promising an update for for months. XD

i c hmm id read it! rofl seeing ur art made me wanna play FF IX again so i was doing that earlier today. and it gave me an idea for a vivi X eiko story of my own. Are you an author on FF.net? if so whats ur pen name cause id like to see what else you write.

All I have at the moment is my Portal 2 fan fic 'Hell on Earth' which is here on dA as well. My pen name is magefeathers there as well! I've got a whole bunch more black mage sketches I'm going to scan tonight. I've had FF9 on the brain lately as well. XD

Well, I look forward to seeing the results. I had a couple fan fics way back when, but I'd be too embarrass to show them off now. XD Actually one of my favorite 'Black Waltz Vivi' fics was 'Innocence Lost'...however, I don't think it's on fanfiction.net anymore...good story though. XD

I had that one in my fave's, Ivana J Spyder, right?
I did write one, it's over on Fanfiction.net but that was Vivi as a Berserker Waltz (Which was more fun then it should have been!).
Sadly, my fanaticism moved on to Giant alien robots so I doubt there'll be any Vivi's.
