Description Added it to scraps even though I DO consider it a complete drawing. Just not... a very good complete drawing, lol. This is my first Drider ever, and really it was just to get the feel for spider anatomy. I know the anatomy is a little bad. Even after days of studying real Black Widow photos online. And I can't help but feel something is amiss with where the spider body meets with the drow body. Maybe I didn't have the torso curve out enough? Or is it the torso is too big? My biggest lesson with this drawing is, start with the spider body first, THEN the drow half. Not the other way around like I did with this piece.

heeeeyyy! A drider! sweet! There just aren't enough of those out there these days. Poor driders, no one loves them....
I think that maybe the frontmost part of the spider half, the part with the first two sets of legs, ought to be turned up to meet with the drow torso, but that's just me. I really like this one! :fav:

Yeah, I think the biggest problem was i didn't curve the spider body enough. it's too stiff. Thanks for the feedback, and I'm glad you like him. Definately gonna do some more practice with these creatures... I've recently become quite fascinated with spiders since I drew this, lol.

I think overall its great!
I think the problem is that the guy's torso is turned towards the viewer but the spider body is almost a side-profile view.

At least thats what I think.

Maybe you're right also.
Guess there's more wrong with it than I thought, LOL.
Thanks!!

nice work on it non the less. very well executed. for the future you might want to make the spider body larger in relation to the human torso. the hair is very well done, over all great work mags keep it up and post more often!

Thanks Jason dear, for your helpful pointers!
I haven't been drawing much, so I haven't had much to post lately.
But I've been working on a few art trades lately, so I'll get some more stuff up soon.

The upper body is too stiff.. The spider should be arching more, up, like its going to attack, the way the front legs go up, to ward off an attack. Kind of like the way a trantula, or a wolf spider does... Otherwise, this looks lovely.
