Description While I was in England last week I treated myself to a cross stitch magazine. I chose "Cross Stitch Crazy " as I liked the kit that came with it more than the things the other magazines included even though it was rather pink and had a ghastly (in my eyes anyway) pink frame for it (not in picture as I feel the frame is wrong for the work and distracts the eye from the stitching).

I started it while in England and finished it at home though it took this long mostly because I was dreading the massive amounts of backstitching it has.

Glad it's not just me hehe. I too get easily confused, especially as patterns almost never match up colour wise with what I'm looking at.

I've never really been bothered by backstitching. I find it goes faster than the rest of a project and it just gives it such a clean, polished look.

This is very pretty for all its simplicity. I should see if I can find a cross-stitch magazine!

I actually don't like the look of lots of backstitch either, but that might just be my aversion to doing it speaking

Thanks They are fun to look at but quite expensive if you try to buy them abroad I looked at the price for one here and though it's marked as 4.99 GBP it was 12.95 Euro here *faint*

Fortunately, I live in the U.S., so I probably wouldn't spend more than 5-6 dollars on a single issue.

the back stitching is y favorite part actually. I only do it when the picture is finished, so it feels as if the project is nearly done.

I keep having this happen:

I do a cross-stitch, from a pattern, and I keep thinking it looks weird and blocky and flat...and then I finish it up with backstitching and OMG PRETTY PICTURE OUT OF THREAD.
