Backstory
Darla was created in Joey Drew Studios. When she was made and drawn in her first cartoon, the first people she saw were the toons.

The first toon to approach her was Bailey the angel, who used a soft gesture to gain her trust, which worked. Bailey then introduced Darla to Boris, Alice, the Butcher Gang, and his mother, Angelina. Then in the cartoon, when Bendy walked into the scene, Darla saw him and she swore her heart skipped a beat. Bailey introduced her to Bendy, who greeted her with friendliness and with a handshake. Darla was shy, but she wanted to shake his hand, so she reluctantly did. After that, Darla just couldn’t help but feel her face go warm. Bendy didn’t seem to notice her blushing, but he invited her to come join the picnic. And so she did and the cartoon ended with her sitting with Bendy, who gave her half of his sandwich.

After the cartoon ended, Joey planned to bring her into the human world. And so he did by using the ink machine.

When Darla opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was Joey Drew himself! When Joey introduced himself, she was too nervous to even say her name, until Joey told her that he won’t hurt her. And then she introduced her name, “Darla.” After her introduction, Joey brought her to the entire studio and she met Henry and all the other workers there. During the introduction, she wondered where Bendy was and she wondered at the right time because after she was introduced, she was sent into the room where all the toons were.

After the introduction, Darla began to hang around Bendy more. When she was around him, she was more talkative. Bendy was surprised Darla had this side of her, but he didn’t mind. He liked having Darla around. After a long while, the toons and people in the studio can see that Darla has a little something for Bendy. Some even started to tease her.

Bendy was needed for something and he left Darla alone for sometime. While he goes off doing something, Henry wanted to show Darla the cartoons that were made.

Darla, curious, went with him to a room with a projector and began showing her every Bendy cartoon. As she watched, she was lovestruck. There are times she didn’t like Bendy doing nearly bad things to the other toons, but she didn’t care. She didn’t care if Bendy has to be chased or humiliated at the end. She felt her feelings of him intensify.

Her second cartoon with Bendy was quite a romantic one. Bendy and Darla were supposed to act like a girl meeting up with her crush again in a park and they hang out, since Darla was friend-zoned by Bendy at this time. The cartoon ended with Darla leaning against Bendy’s shoulder and with Bendy slightly blushing.

A couple of months passed and Bendy and Darla started to actually like each other. One day, before the workers planned to start a new cartoon, Darla gathered up the courage to confess her feelings to Bendy. They went to a private area of the studio and there, she spoke the three words to Bendy and afterwards, the rest of her romantic feelings to Bendy. Bendy was shocked and had the blush on his face, but he smiled and replied that he loved her back. Darla was surprised and dumbstruck, but when Bendy told her what he feels about her, Darla couldn’t help but feel happy and she hugged him tightly. The hug lasted for a short while before she stole Bendy’s first kiss. That day was the beginning of a relationship. A cartoon was made about them finally becoming a couple a day after.

After their relationship started, they started to act like what a romantic couple would do in the cartoons, kind of like Mickey and Minnie from Disney. At the end, they always kiss. Afterwards, the studio had good profit and many audiences enjoyed seeing the two demons together. During breaks, Bendy would always prank or hang out with his girlfriend or with his friends.

However, the joy didn’t last long. After Henry left, things haven’t gone well. One day, Darla noticed that Bendy was gone most of the time and told Joey to come with him many times. New workers came in and out, but some didn’t want to see her or Bendy, making them show Holy items to them. Some even brought in dip and sprayed it at them. After all the fuss, Darla and Bendy met up with each other again on the spot they knew that there are going to be rough times ahead, but no matter what, they’ll always be together.

Unfortunately, Joey has changed. He grew insane slowly, scaring some of the workers and the toons there. When Joey started to experiment on Bendy and Boris, Darla grew scared and wanted to go to Bendy, but Alice told her that she might get hurt. But Darla didn’t care. She loved Bendy and she wanted to see him.

When she was about to go into the ritual room, all that she saw was Joey running away and Bendy’s corrupted, amalgamated form. He was roaring wildly and angrily as he ran after Joey. She jumped in his way and tried to talk Bendy out of his rage, but when Bendy saw her, he froze. The two demons stared at each other before Bendy said a very quiet, “I’m sorry.”

And he ran off.

Darla tried to follow him, but Bailey told her that she has to hide with the other toons. She didn’t want to but after watching as searchers started going after her and disembodied Butcher Gang members started going after them, they ran into hiding. The ones who survived were her, Bailey, and Angelina. Darla, scared and shocked that all this was happening, started to cry. Asking why everything has come down to this.

Her boyfriend became a monster.
Most of her friends were killed or about to be killed.
Most of the workers turned into these inky creatures.

Now she awaits thirty years. Her love for Bendy undying. Hoping that a miracle one day will come to them and take them out of their torture.

Corruption and Transformation into Darling
After Bendy turned into an ink demon, the darkness of the studio began to spread like a virus. In fear, Darla runs away from the Ink Demon just so she doesn’t get hurt. However, a deformed Alice Angel tried to catch her, but she escaped immediately before she could. She had to look at a lot of mutilated forms of the Butcher Gang and humans themselves as she ran. She often ran into the Ink Demon’s trap, only to escape, then risk getting seen and become victim to escape.

When Ink Bendy saw her, she obviously ran away. But one time, she got caught by him and watched as he raised his clawed hands. She begged him to stop, but the Ink Demon stopped himself and placed Darla on the ground. She looked at the misshaped form of her boyfriend and wondered what he thought. But all she saw was that he ran away afterwards.

Soon, after a week has passed, the corruption of the studio began to spread. It started to corrupt the poor, adorable toon demon. The corruption made her moody, a little temperamental, and even more aggressive. And as time goes on, she wondered what was happening to her.

The corrupt slowly started to produce more fear in her and even bring negative emotions like hatred to her. Hatred of the Ink Demon. Anger at Bendy for breaking the promise of staying together. The transformation was painful, making her call out for help, only no one responded.

It led her to “bleed” ink from her mouth and her eyes, making her look lifeless. She grew taller and her hands grew bigger.

And soon. Darling was born.

And she waited thirty years for Bendy’s return and the freedom she awaits.

Her whispers of “Help me” ring in the hallways.

Anyone she sees might end up killed by her claws, for she does not trust that they can help her.
