The good news is that this can never happen in Marvel comics. His healing factor (and anyone with a better healing factor) was constantly fighting off the symbiote's attempts to bond with him during the "Venom Bomb" story arc. Most of the Avengers were instantly turned into dangerous monsters. Peter Parker was immune (he just got his Black Suit back) and Logan was trapped in between changing. If the X-Men had to fight this then I predict Banchee, Siren, or Sunfire would free him.

God, Web of Shadows was one of the best Spiderman games ever, the Ps3 version anyway. And Symbiote Wolverine was the best boss fight in it, next to Venom himself.

When I first saw Symbiote Wolverine when I was playing the PS3 version of Web of Shadows, my jaw dropped, and broke off.
So no doubt that the X-Men would probably react to this as well.

Deadpool's healing factor would counter the symbiote, Logan's was keeping the "Venom Bomb" symbiote at bay during the New Avengers storyline. Deadpool would be close to immune.

Well there were alot of easter eggs of Superman in Arkham Knight. There were daily planet and Lexcorp advertisement signs across gotham, thugs mentioning moving to metropolis, however saying that it could be worse, and even a voice mail to Bruce Wayne from Lex Luthor, offering a chance to work with him
