Task Master can copy anyone's fighting style after seeing it in anyform, even if it is on video. His personal arsenal includes a Vibranium shield (almost as strong as Cap's), bow and trick arrows (Hawkeye), Vibranium sword (almost as sharp as adamatium), and whatever he needs. He can temporarily use moves at super-human speed by watching the appropriate move in fast forward ahead of time. He occasionally wears a costume with Hard Light generators so that he has any weapon he has trained with all the time insteadΒ of having to carry all of them separately.
He has copied fighting from the Avengers, the Masters of Evil, Deadpool (accidently), and basically everyone except Moon Knight. He can even train others to fight on the same level as someone he copied. US Agent was trained by Taskmaster (at the request of the US Government) to replace Captain America. Blood Spider was trained to fight like Spider-Man, while using tech to match Spider-Man's powers, theΒ same technique was used to create the Scarlet Spiders (Michael, Van, and Patton.)
He is basically an evil Batman. Worst of all is that he is 100% sane and uses his sanity against his opponents.

and the sad thing is despite his best efforts, deadpool is easily capable of making a mockery of him, when the idiot isn't an overconfident prick.

That is mainly because Deadpool has his own comics and as the main character he cannot lose. Taskmaster only had a miniseries in the Marvel MAX universe (I think). The reason Deadpool wins is that he is "unpredictable" and copying him is shown to be a major problem, it replaces Taskmasters combat abilities with useless skills like dancing.
