Do be fair. She took a long ass fall when she fell into that hole and she kinda was a bit sore and tired afterward (her aura took most of the fall for her). She's still 15 and I can imagine her volume 4 and beyond self is much more capable of fighting without her scythe. Ruby isn't a full grown lioness and is still a cub.
