Unless I'm missing something, this would assume that he'd have someone to fuse with(since Firestorm's traditionally two people merged as one) and that person is in some way knowledgeable of nuclear physics(since he's also known as "The Nuclear Man" for a reason and his signature transmutation ability stems from manipulating/rearranging subatomic particles of various elements and substances)...

Unless, of course, we're talking about just Firestorm's power-set and not the whole Firestorm Matrix... in which case Shoto would need to start hitting the books and learn everything there is to know about nuclear energy, atomic physics, and general science ASAP(or wherever he lives will become the bastard love-child of Nagasaki/Hiroshima and Chernobyl).
