DOWNLOAD FOR FULL PICTURE.So to reiterate what I was supposed to...
I generally use three similar colors. For instance, for black it would be cool gray 70%, 90%, and black. for red, it would be poppy red, crimson red, and Tuscan red, etc. Adding some variation in any of the tones can either make it look really really good or really really bad.
about the Indigo on the red, shadows are often dark blue or gray in color, but they do reflect some color! using blue or purple (or indigo, derp) will make the shadows more prominent.
I AM NOT A MASTER. I AM NOT EVEN 20 YET. This is not the only way to color, nor is it necessarily the RIGHT way to color, and it is certainly not THE way to color, it is A way to color (not grade A, but y'know.)
STEP SEVEN HAS HUGE TYPOS. "DO NOT STOP STROKES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LIGHT PARTS".

EEEHEEE, I'll give you a hinty, if you add more colors after you blend it over with white, it gets MUCH richer and smoother than it was before :'DD
