Description
Teen Sherlock on his way to Uni checking the news on his phone. Bad habit, smoking, but there you have it -- he was a smoker, after all.Ohs, meant to say that I'm trying to loosen up a little and deconstruct the background. Something I've seen AmandaTolleson do in some of her pics.

YES MORE SHERLOCK SMOKING PORN.
I hate smoking, a lot, but this man is making me see that it's okay sometimes. (it's still bad for your health, mister.)

Oh, it's probably never okay. I mean, it totally will kill you. But he does smoke -- it's established. Or he tries. I mean, John is not to be trifled with, really. I do love how you cropped up with 'smoking porn'. Nothing I've ever done -- ever --
has been described as any kind of Benedict porn. Oddly, I find this to be a big compliment.
Thank you so much, Romangeeks!

Thanks, KaiDarknight! Chalk pastel is a bit of a cheat, but it was major fun to do!

Oh, this is gorgeous, Bunni! You've always been amazing, but I really think you've improved somewhat. Maybe I haven't paid enough attention to your other (visual) work, but that doesn't devalue this one any less. (Forgive me, I'm half asleep.)

OMG, you are so sweet! I dunno what to say about improving, really. I hit and miss. I suppose that's everyone (well... not Nero749 and AmandaTolleson, but... those of us with feet of clay). This is chalk pastel. Really, it's what I know best. It's the traditional medium I use for everything from watercolours to painting ball-jointed-dolls. I may have done well with this one because I'd been trying digital oils, watercolours, and gouache, lately, and they are bloody hard! So this was more relaxing.
Also, because the planned background fell through so I decided to just treat it like a photo with a wide aperture setting or something like. Ultimately, I don't care. You like it. And that's cool to me.
OMG I so should be asleep, rn.

In terms of skill, I put you right up there with Nero and Amanda, bub. All three of you are my role models. You're excellent with fiction and storylines, and now you're increasing in the visual works and I am so jealous.
I've been working with oil pastels and coloured pencils lately, but my work is with landscapes. It's nowhere near this gorgeous, and I'm unable to put any of them up on the internet because of my lack of scanner. Alas.
Sleep sounds good. I'm going to bed after I reply to your other message.

Oh, not by a long shot. But I'm just gawping that you would say something like that, Tashii-chan. Wow! Yes, I very-much look up to AmandaTolleson and Nero. I am aware that's more the style in which you have to draw, really, for the common person to consider you an artist, but I actually find that kind of sad. I've discovered that's not really what I'm after when I'm looking at their stuff. I like the moodiness in Amanda's artwork, the precision, and where she chooses to leave it out, and her use of deep, dark shadows. Nero uses light the way I think Amanda uses darkness, and her design is just really good. I've honestly sat looking at their pieces for a looong time trying to get the sense of it.
Oh! I used to do oil pastels! You know you can paint with them, right? My problem with oil pastels was that, at the time I was doing them, I was a student. My teacher did not want me to mix media. I mean, he was really good, but there were bitch sessions. I didn't like the paper type he would make us use for oil pastels. I also needed better quality oil pastels. How do you find them?
What kind of pencils, can I ask? I like Derwent watercolour pencils. They are nommy! But there are bunches of good kinds! And you must get a scanner, yes? I mean, I bet they're better than you think, your landscapes! Plus, think of how rare and unique the landscape around you must be.
I have a flu rn. All I do is sleep. I just got up... and I could go back to sleep. Unencouraging....

I've never analyzed Nero's or Amanda's work closer than their use of light and shadow, but I do know for sure that their pieces are aesthetically-pleasing, as is your work! You really are super duper talented. Don't put yourself down at all.
I didn't know you could paint with oil pastels, no. I use them mostly to exaggerate coloured areas (because all of the colours I have are quite bold and thick). I like using them, but I prefer mixing them and using them with soft pastels. That way, I get to blend the soft with the harsher colour of the oil pastels.
I desperately need watercolour pencils, but I only have simple coloured pencils right now. Just generic stuff.
There's a scanner in the room next to me, but I haven't got around to fixing it (my parents shifted our study around a bit and, well, cords got unplugged).
Get better son, okay? The flu is nasty.
Also, happy Valentines Day! <3

Ohs. See, the thing is, I'm not. I look at the stuff of the amazing people and then I just try and imagine how they're doing it. Believe me, I have no idea. But thank you, Authoress! You are so cool!
The pic almost makes me want to write another YA Fan Fic like The Witch's Heart.

I just miss free time a bit is all. I worked from 7AM to 9:30PM last night, with a couple hours for lunch and supper, for instance. And Saturday. But, it's only for a few weeks. Chin up!

Yeah! No jokes! Gonna get Chinese food with Teaque and talk Sherlock! (She's writing again!) It' a mini-Sherlock-git-together (my half-sis will round it out -- she, too, is a Sherlock/Benedict fan)! I'll do overtime for that you can believe it!

Haha, it's okay. I'm sure I'll find something. I'm going to my grandma's house tonight, and she's from Okinawa, so if I ask nicely, she might make me something.

Okinawa! OH! There's this distinctive form of Japanese singing from there that sounds so cool and powerful! I really, actually, am curious about the place. Sadly, a lot of it sprang out of Blood+ -- I know it sounds stupid, but it made me curious about Okinawa. I love Japan. I hope your grandmother was able to cook you up something wonderful!

Really? Grandma doesn't really talk much about that stuff. What's it called?
Haha, it's okay (what's Blood+ about? Does it take place in Okinawa?). As long as you don't say your interest stems from Karate Kid, I'll be okay- it was actually filmed in Hawaii. T.T
