I don't plan on doing much art this year, but I want to at least celebrate this Year of the Dragon with Mashin Hero Wataru fanart.

Episode 15 is one of those things where I remember the concept of it more fondly than actually watching it. I actually really like the idea of one the 7 Divine Dragon falling under Doakudar's control by means of a magic collar. I shouldn't be annoyed about it also transforming into an icy drake, because physical transformation is on par with what happens to those under Doakudar's control. And yet, in my head, I much prefer the concept of the collar merely suppressing the Fire Dragon's life force.

I think it's actually such a neat subversion to have a "fire dragon" live in a naturally cold and icy land. But with his power suppressed, he's become pale, sickly, and aggressive. Meanwhile, the weather outside his cave is unrelenting snow without his presence. Leaving the citizens of the Forth Level to suffer in the bitter cold.

I ended up leaning heavily into artistic license with this one. I wanted the dragon to look frost-covered rather than a stocky drake that looks like it could be an ice-type Pokémon. The chains are too much, but I also expect not many people who follow me are familiar with this franchise and so I wanted to convey the idea of forced imprisonment more visually.
