I'm so sorry about the Ducklings and to you for putting your heart out on the Tiny Ones. At least they were warm, dry and fed.

That was such a caring thing for you to do. It's so sad when mothers just leave their babies this way.

Well they were both quite sick, so all I could really do was comfort them until they passed. Broke my heart.Β Β

Well they were both exposed to some sort of baby duck virus; they didn't live through the night. It made me cry so hard but at least they were safe and warm.

aww poor little babies, you have a heart of gold, taking care of them. Will you be keeping them? I know its a crazy question.I dont understand why the mother would abandon them like that.Β They are adorable and look so comfy in that think you put them in.
so precious.

She left them because they were sick. Sadly they didn't live through the night. I was hoping I could nurse them along, but they were just too tiny and frail.Β

How can a mom abandon her babies that is really unusual. I am glad you are kind enough to care for them. How many are there?

MagicRat In reply to Lethal-Lana [2017-05-21 03:09:19 +0000 UTC]
There were two, and (very) sadly they did not survive the night. Usually when a mother duck abandons her babies, there is a reason. These two tiny precious things had a virus or something. All I could do was give them a safe and warm spot to pass on.

That's so sad. At least, like you said, you gave them a soft place to pass on in. I'm sure the babies appreciated that, Magic.
