That was so cool. I have tried the template and it works however the grids are showing in the artwork along with the brush.
I have Photoshop and Im dying to try more brushes in your program, any advice?

Great news
You have Photoshop, that's great, so you can disable or delete the grid layer. You have already guides, to show or hide the grid guides, press CTRL+H or APPLE+H
As you already may know, guides are not saved with exported image formats like JPEG.
Bottomline: Delete the grid layer, activate (show) guides.

You have to delete the lines before use, They are just guides for you to know where to draw the actual brushes.

But, anyway, what is a brush set? A tiled picture? (The template you provide seems to be a picture...). Tell us how to do it -if possible- and we'll see if we can.

Sure
Template is a blank, grayscale PSD image sliced in 25 pieces using rulers. Place your images in slices. When you're done, save a copy of it as JPEG.
Run the program and import newly saved JPEG using brush drawer.

GIMP is good
I think GIMP can open PSD files. Give it a try when you have some time

Ok, I downloaded Pixelmator demo. Pixelmator is not honoring Photoshop rulers/guides. So I updated the template image, now if you open it using Pixelmator, you will see two layers. Use upper layer as a guide. Put your brush images (that can be any image) in the spaces, turn of the guide layer and export it as JPEG.
