Annnd sometimes I work with animal parts. I adore dead things, fur and taxidermy.So this is a pelt and skull I've had for a little bit and have finally decided to make a funky scarf/stole out of. He'll eventually have some replaced little ragdoll legs and a button+loop clasp in his mouth. Maybe some earrings.
As a side note, I do not use any real animal products in my costume/fursuit stuff unless specifically noted. Its kinda dumb to use real fur on that kind of thing, but as fashion accessories go, damn right I'll use it.
Any unkindness or bitching will be deleted.

I love art that uses real fur and bone. I don't like animals being killed exclusively for use of their fur, but I don't have an issue if it's a byproduct of another industry. This particular piece is beautiful thus far though.
Also, Bone Room is awesome. Wish we had stuff like that out this way. I browse their site every now and then and debate ordering a few things to play around with for clothing/jewelry, small costuming pieces, and/or ritual tools.

Oh gosh, that skull is in GREAT CONDITION and that pelt is just gorgeous. I love how well they go together.
Just as a side question, did you glue the teeth into their sockets? I always have trouble with the teeth falling out of the skulls I have.

I had to glue one of the canines in, and generally expect to have to glue more in the future but Im hesitant to rip everyone out at once for fear of breaking something

Why not just get super glue and put glue around the edges so that you don't need to pull the teeth out?

I hear ya. But I've lost enough of the tiny little incisors on my cat skulls that I just bite the bullet and pull all the teeth and glue them back in before I do anything with them.

how much would a coyote skull and hide, and or wolf skull and hide...be to have you complete...(would you allow me to provide my own pelt and skull) thank you for you feedback..i have a back of whole hide fox, and all kinds of goodies i bought from a friend...with all kinds of random pieces..yote squirrel..fox...when i get it might donate some to ya if you wanted..

um, lets see, the pelt is from a wonderful hide and leather place in Petaluma and the skull is from The Bone Room in Berkley- both are places in the bay area back in California.

Yeah that place is pretty awsome, you can get bones, horns, preserved animals, pelts, fossils and even human bones too. I miss the bay area soooo much, theres a lot of different weird shops like that out there.

would you mind telling me what materials you made and how you attached the pelt to the skull is it a yote skull or fox and or wolf...and how did attached the pelt to the skull..did you have to soak the ears. to work with the skull. In fact, i think you did a great job. combining them both!!!!!

Its a fox skull, just a little guy and the pelt is attatched via just clever stitching.
