Description Coated copper in brown, natural and bronze. Quartz and moonstone. Just under 2" long by 1 3/8" wide.

For the twisty trees contest. I was playing with using multiple tones of wire to reinforce all the twisting that's involved in making the tree. I'm a bit ambivalent about it. I like the effect in the trunk, but I'm not sure on the branches all being different colors.

What do you guys think?

This one is available for a $30 donation (if outside the US note me first, might need to be a little more to balance out the shipping!) to one of these environmental charities:

Resembles a Sakura with the colors chosen

[link] were my attempts at intentional ones. I've not managed to find rose quartz chips. But it's nice to know that moonstone and quartz don't feel cold to everyone!

Rose quartz chips are very abundant on the internet, and you can always find synthetic chips in stores like Michael's and Johann's. My next tree is going to have a mixture of assorted natural chips, including rose quartz.

I'm a picky pain. I've had poor luck buying stones online, so I do it very rarely Thus far the stone chips in the local crazft stores have been too large or twice as expensive as better quality strands I could get at shows

I think it's looks great, a little more realistic even. Most bark isn't precisely the same color everywhere, after all.

Thank you, I liked the effect on the trunk, but not so much on the branches. But can't figure a way around it thus far. I'm going to keep playing.

I like it! The colors go well together, and from a distance the subtle difference looks brilliant! The mix of stones is good too; there's a lot you could do with that technique !

-Waits for some psychedelic trees for Halloween-

Cool.

And I hadn't thought in that direction honestly.

I think it works! The colors aren't so crazy that they clash, and they mimic natural tree colors.
