Actually, having grown up in a sometimes rather snowy part of the world, I'm with Link's reactions here.

Glad to hear it; I've never seen more than 2-3 feet of snow at once, so when it comes to things like this I just have to wing it.

Falling under snow is like a weird mix of drowning and being buried, but unlike drowning you can't just swim/float up to air and unlike burying your body tends to freeze (metaphorically) instead of starting to scrabble your way out. It takes a moment of panic before you remember you can just stand up, but of course if you're as short as Link that might not be an option!
