In total I'm counting 6 votes for bottom left, 3 votes for top right, 1 for bottom right and 0 for top left. 

I think what I'm going to do is say, well my theory is that Gogeta's hair colors were flipped because they powered up before they fused. I think had they fused in base form, and then powered up to ssj4 as gogeta, his hair would have been brown and his body fur would have been red. so i guess in the case of trunten, black with purple will be his colors should be power up after fusing, and purple with red will be his colors is they power up before fusing. Now, some people may remember elder kai saying never to power up before fusing with potara earrings because you won't be able to power down and eventually you'll die of exhaustion. However, in my storyline, Majuub retains the power to separate fighters fused by kai magic, just like Majin Buu did. So, they would be able to unfuse even with earrings. Also in my arc, they will realize sometimes 15 minutes isn't enough time to win a battle. Gotenks and Gogeta both had occurrences where they'd have won if they they had more time. I guess that's the logic behind dumping Gotenks in favor of Trunten. Especially at SSJ4, Gotenks could only sustain that power for a few minutes before unfusing. 

As for powering up before fusion vs after, in Goku's case, it was necessary because he was stuck in his kid body in base form. For Goten and Trunks, I have no idea why they would have to power up first. Maybe they wouldn't. Maybe that form is a little stronger. I don't know. Maybe they would turn into Oozaru by accident during a fight and then regain awareness and become SSJ4s there on the spot. If that was the case, why power down? Just fuse as SSJ4s, and have Uub unfuse you later.

I like top right as it keeps the SSJ4 fusion hair colors true, with a unique fur color.

I'd pick the bottom-left; the purplish hair adds a definite "Trunks" feel that helps him stand out from all the black-haired Saiyans.
