For those of you who might wonder if this character has something to do with my nickname: Yes, she does. I've been drawing Maina for years now and I do see a little bit of myself in her.I'm actually very happy with this character chart, because I have to honestly admit I've never done such an elaborate one before. Even in my animation classes back in college, I didn't put that much effort in analysing a character's expression. I needed to take a break from fairy art, and this is really a nice change for me. I'm even thinking of doing a small animation with her in it if I have time this week. (YAY for vacations!)
It's true that the coloring and lineart aren't exactly polished. I was mostly going to expression and design for this chart.

Very nicely pulled off, you get a real sense of her character, and she's an adorable one. ^^ The movement in her hair, subtle as though it may be, is a really nice touch, and you have a distinct style.

What a lovely, well-done character sheet! You make me want to make my own, only my drawing style's almost never consistent, so it wouldn't be much use. Sniff.
I must say that I adore her character design, from her incredibly cute little crown to her pointy little boots. Her pose at bottom right-most amuses me: it's like she's saying "Ingrates!" or "Can't you get ANY decent service these days?" She just looks so princess-y and royal-er-than-thou -- even her fancy little bob oozes class.
I love how she's wearing a little nightshirt in the studies of her facial expressions, it's awesome. XD

Very cute character. Loving the expressions. I can't do that. I hope to someday, with practice, of course.
Tip: I learned recently at a children's book illustrator meeting that children notice the smallest differences in pictures as it seems to throw off their balance through the story or something like that. Might I suggest, with the previous in mind, to watch the jewelry. The earrings and hair clips appear and disappear again.
I understand this is just concept design, and she's incredible. Very impressive!

ohhhhh! Thank you for the very wise advice! I did do these a little quickly (in a restaurant X3) but I am aware that some details like the earrings and hairpins are missing. I did put more on her "gothic" version too, on purpose. Of course, I will probably do one clean version of this character sheet sooner or later, but I will keep this in mind for my next work!
