Some time with this idea in my head, it's a relief to finally put it on a final art. I'm kind of a fan of Go Nagai's work, specially Super Robots, and this is a design based on his most beloved SR: Grendizer. Just having fun drawing a "Shin" version of this space mech.There is an italian design named "UFO King Grendizer", but this was way before I knew that fan trailer existed. Glad my design is different so no harm is done.

Was the intention to use Shin and/or Kaiser on the name, but sounded too tacky, so went with the Kingdizer instead. Have a sheet with the weaponry idea, it's just too rough to overcome self respect to show it. Trying to clear some time and finish the UFO idea and weaponry images to publish it.

This is a great redesign.
I've always been a large fan of Grendizer, mainly because of his head and chest design so it's nice you managed to keep them looking so great.
It makes me sad that every other Go Nagi property has been updated in the last 15 years with Gren being the only one that really hasn't.Β I'd love to see a Shin Grendizer or Shin Great but sadly I don't think it's in the cards.

And for Shin Great Mazinger... sad news for you. A couple years ago was aired Shin Mazinger. Shogeki Z-Hen! which will "retell" in a way the Mazinger story adding a lot of references from a lot other classic Go Nagai stories. It ends with a glipmse of Tetsuya and a Great Mazinger's head. The main idea was to continue it with a Shin Great Mazinger (and possibly a Great UFO Robot Grendizer), but the studio closed and it was lost forever.

It's not really sad news I'm very much aware of Shin Mazinger, I just found it to be absolute dog poo.
I do remember the Tatsuya and Great Tease, but the fact is it won't happen and there for my original comment.
I did however forget about Gakeen.

Shame on you to have forgoten the Magnetic Robot Gakeen.
I think Shin Mazinger is one hell of a series. I had fun watching it and getting those little twist on the story. That Dr. Hell wasn't a crazy madman only to rule the Earth for ambition was a mindblower.

I have recently come upon your works and YE GODS! Have you some amazing Work! I know some artists will do Mechs, some will do anime, some will do Sparkling Bishounen... You seem to do it all!Β
From legendary robots such as Robot Kingdizer and Getter Robo! (and that Kingdizer is SERIOUSLY amazing!)Β
To smaller power armor and robots (MegaMan-X, specificallyΒ Humanity Savior Β and of courseΒ The Invincible Iron-Man )
To Anime (All of those DBZ Pics!)Β
and of course Pretty Boys! (The "Protecting the Loved One ", although I do know the bird winged one is female)
I feel I could write a huge review on each one of these images.
Shoot I probably will over time, they certainly deserve it!
Your MegaMan ones are especially impressive, mostly because you do such a great job of making him look more "Robot" and less "Girly" Β (don't get me wrong, I LOVE "girly" robots, it's just I feel MegaManX has been a bit unfairly typecast in the "Girly Robot" format 
As for THIS piece of art WELL! I see plenty of "Modernized" versions of older legendary mech, and usually they are taking some newer Mech design, and trying to make it look old fashion. Β You have done a Genuinely impressive job of taking an Older design, and making it look truly "new" I mean every part of it evokes the original "Kingdizer" wonderfully!
All in all I am SO glad I stumbled across your work, SO many goodies to look through!! Thank you for your art!

Well it is all about perspective, in comparison to many others you have posted a GREAT dear of truly AMAZING work (IMHO)
I am a writer mostly myself, and know how much creative people crave good feed back, So I am happy to supply it when possible
And glad you are as happy with your work, an artist should always create for their own joy! And try not to cater to the whims of others

Ufo King Grendizer by Odysseus is an Amazing concept and a really fantastic work done by a true skilled and gifted artist. Your work is impressive too. I love all the idea but the legs are my favourites!

I liked the UFO KingGrendizer, it seemed like a direct contunuation of the story. My approach is more old fashioned since I already love the grendizer design. Just wanted to add some features to the design and give it my own "mech-touch", like the blades in front of it's legs and feet for a nice kick and my proud and joy: the drill arms. Kinda bulky and not moderated in any way. Hope to draw and post ASAP the chart explaining the weaponry and design the UFO Ship that goes in a different yet old fashioned way alike the guy up the comments.

Grendizer is my favorite but I have never liked any Shin variations/concepts/designs of it ..... until now!

he main idea of Shin Mazinger Shougeki Z-Hen was to remake Mazinger Z. We could see that the intention was to continue a Shin Great Mazinger, but studio closed before the beginning of the proyect. I can only imagine that a Shin Grendizer was a "could be" in that proyect.
