#GiveBackInfinityTrain #SaveHBOMax #FireDavidZaslav
What you’ve been seeing throughout the past four hours is a collection of drawings that I made for the #GiveBackInfinityTrain trend that was announced a few days ago, scheduled to happen today at 11 A.M. This is, of course, a response to David Zaslav, the head of Warner Bros. Discovery, and his widely despised, massive money losing decision to drop a whole bunch of shows from HBO Max, most of which are animated and all coming after his cancellations of Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt along with the removals of six Max Original films. As a fan of Infinity Train myself who has actually posted an Infinity Train drawing before (a crossover between Book One with Tulip Olsen and the Sega game series Shenmue with Ryo Hazuki), I jumped on board immediately because I, too, feel that animation deserves so, so, soooooooooooo much better than what it’s gotten ever since the 1960s with the rise of television and decline of package deals that must include a cartoon with a movie (which I would love to see happen again, btw). In trying to cut $3 billion dollars off of WB’s $53 billion debt, he only added $20 billion more to it after this bone-headed move, a fitting punishment as cancelling and dropping a bunch of projects (most of which don’t even have DVD & Blu-Ray releases) would never gain trust in creatives to want to work with you ever again. With how mad that even the stock experts and executives are with this decision, Zaslav’s future with WBD may well be in total jeopardy, and I for one will not miss him at all if and when he’s gone. Hell, he’d have to go if WB wants to even make it out of this decade alive, because without creative talent coming in to pitch new projects to your entertainment company, you end up going the way of RKO Pictures. Wait, what’s that? Most of you have never heard of RKO Pictures? That’s exactly what my point is. To paraphrase Placebo for how studios have always worked the entire time, Without You (the creative team), I’m Nothing.

Infinity Train is owned by Warner Bros. and Cartoon Network.
