Oh, you thought my Night in the Woods and The Amazing World of Gumball crossover 2020 event was over, huh? I thought it’d be over too, as I announced that it would have six drawings total releasing from April 13-18. But nope! Turns out I have the Deviant Art equivalent to a music album bonus track! (like Decode [initially released by Paramore as a Twilight tie-in song before being included in international releases for their best album ever, Brand New Eyes; I don’t care that much for those movies, but I love their soundtracks!] and Take What You Want [a Post Malone song featuring Travis Scott and OZZY OSBOURNE of all people released in the album Hollywood’s Bleeding before being a bonus track in Ozzy’s Ordinary Man) I took some time last Friday to do another NITW/TAWOG crossover, only this time it’s a Sonic the Hedgehog drawing with Sonic and Blaze that features Mae and Gumball and also the title character of Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Cat! Remember this five character combo I released a drawing of on the first of last October as a special gift for LongHairedLioness, a member of all four fandoms involved? Well, here they are together again officially rounding out an entire week full of NITW/TAWOG crossovers (plus two other Gumball crossovers and a Rick May tribute for Star Fox, making nine consecutive days I’ve released a new drawing)! That’s some The 25 Days of Deviant Art level stuff right there that of course I’m far from used to, even having two more Six Fanarts Challenges that I’m working on right now! Don’t expect anything tomorrow, though, as I’ve got a lot of work to do for those challenges.

I saw how successful the first one was, especially since it was the very first Sagwa drawing I ever made (and also my most successful Night in the Woods drawing so far [even after only one other drawing for that fandom made beforehand] and my first Gumball drawing to ever reach the 50 favorites mark). And since I made a sequel to Mario and Sonic (which was my most successful drawing at the time until Eggman movie poster, a parody of Todd Philips’ Joker, surpassed it) last February, it was only a matter of time before I made a sequel to Sonic and the Friendly Felines, and make a sequel I did from midnight until 6 in the morning before the release of Mae and Gumball: Fake Happy! Some might call that risking messing up your sleep schedule, but I call that Fridays. Just get some 2000s songs by Panic! at the Disco and Fall Out Boy and The Killers in here like Time to Dance and “The Take Over, the Breaks Over” and Somebody Told Me, and you have the perfect idea of exactly what this drawing session was like (which, then again, you could say for most of my drawing sessions, only with more Green Day, Paramore, Linkin Park, Nirvana, The Cranberries, Blink-182, just to name a few)! Hey, when I find some fun in these hard times with drawings like this and all of the other NITW/TAWOG drawings I’ve released this full week, of course I’m gonna make the most out of it!

*In memory of Alec Holowka (October 30, 1983 - August 31, 2019), the creator of Night in the Woods who, as we all know by now, killed himself at 35 years old after notorious liar Zoë Quinn got him fired from his job at Infinite Fall (it was recently confirmed that he was, in fact, bettering himself as a person and sought after rehabilitation, and even felt the best he ever did until she came along and needed retweets), and Jesse Taskman, a.k.a. TheUltimateTaskMan and Taskmandoesart2 (January 20, 2003 - April 18, 2020), a fellow fan of The Amazing World of Gumball I knew of here on Deviant Art who died of complications from the coronavirus at only 17 years old (note that I had no idea of this passing until after I had already scheduled this surprise release, finding out from my inbox looking at ARandomGuy235’s status updates just as I was getting ready to release this); way, way too soon for both of them, Holowka having his recovered life brought down faster than Mae could swing a baseball bat and Taskman not even seeing half of what would’ve been his last year before becoming an adult. Rest in peace both of you; wherever you two are right now, neither of you deserved what happened in your tragically short lives.
