Description
PHEW!! Here is that stage I've been working on and off for the last few months.
ITS FINALLY FINISHED!!
Presenting: "Mark of Mastery - Examination Arena"
Some backstory for this Original KH Stage that I have made:
The Examination Arena was a place built in Scala Ad Caelum where prospective Keyblade students must eventually take their Mark of Mastery Exams. It sports a huge Hologram of the Daybreak Tower in the background to remind candidates of times past.
The arena was designed based on the Sanctum of Time from Dream Drop Distance and there is good reason why I decided to base it on that.
The Arena has an altar with 7 statues dedicated to the Master of Masters and his 6 apprentices. Surrounding the arena are 6 hourglasses in 6 colours each representing the foretellers and Luxu.
On other days when the Mark of Mastery exam is not held, the Daybreak Tower Hologram is switched off and people frequently come to the arena to give their prayer to the Master's Altar. Some come here to remember those who gave their lives in the Keyblade war which happened long ago during the age of Fairy Tales (now called the Age of Ruin) when Daybreak Town once stood proud in place of Scala ad Caelum.
The traditional Mark of Mastery Exam is known to be quite gruelling. It is thought the entire mark of Mastery exam lasts about a month consisting of 20 rounds with each round taken once a day. The first 13 rounds are taken roughly over 2 weeks where candidates are placed against dark creatures of increasing difficulty; this is followed by 7 days of rest followed by 7 rounds over 7 days where candidates are pitted against each other.
Each candidate who takes the exam are judged on 6 attributes and passing criteria:
Earning a fail grade in at least 2 of the above 6 criteria results in the candidate having failed that given round. If the student fails 'capacity for Integrity' - they fail that round immediately.
If the student fails more than 4 rounds out of the 20 rounds, they will have failed the entire exam. The candidate then has the choice to retake the exam; but only after a 12 month probation waiting period. The exam is held twice in the Caelum year.
The surrounding Hourglasses are filled with magical sand that correspond to each of the disciples of the Master of Masters. Each hourglass will empty at different rates depending on the candidates performance. If the sand completely runs out in a given hourglass, it means the candidate has failed to satisfy a given criteria for that round. If 2 or more hourglasses empty OR if the hourglass of Integrity empties - the candidate has failed that round.
You do not need to defeat your opponent to pass the round, merely the goal is to not to fail any of the 6 criteria stated above. The pass rate for the Mark of Mastery is unfortunately less than 40%. That is if 100 students took the exam, on average less than 40 candidates will attain the rank of a Keyblade Master.
Upon passing the exam, the candidate is made to stand before the Altar of the Grand Master, and he/she will be bestowed all the rights and privileges of a fully fledged Keyblade Master.
Modelled from scratch on blender, the textures come from a few places:

I want to!
Problem is it takes so much time and work.
Plus before making any stage, I have to draw a blue print of what the stage will look like and that takes up so much time >.<
I wish I had architect skills

yes, these are very great results. you should be very proud of your work here.
I'm not so much creative tho as I am decent at manipulating objects already there. Like using game rigging to make rotate bones, adding props where they should go and sometimes find enough outfits and parts to throw together models haha. I'm not skilled enough to make anything from scratch like this.

Yes! I modelled them using the Sanctum of Time as references.
The Sanctum of Time is Young Xehanort's battle arena in KH3D

Really!? Thank you!
I hate exams tbh, after having taken so many for my course. I wanted to think of an epicly difficult exam and this came to mind.
But yeah imagine an exam everyday for a month π

I can definitely see why Eraqus toned down his exam if it was that difficult originally XD

Wow! That's the official tower from KH3 final boss. The one that's underwater and in ruins.
I can open it in blender 2.81 but I have difficulty using it because I'm still using 2.75 for my projects.
But wow. How on earth did you manage to get that file?

AESRYL In reply to makaihana975 [2020-03-03 20:27:16 +0000 UTC]
I remember seeing it during the final battle & went looking through the Map Files since I have access to - Characters, Maps & ReMind
And thought I would send it through to show you - I can also update the file and put a 2.79 .blend if you want

No no it's okay haha! Thank you for offering though.
If anything I want to try and find a way to migrate my workstation from 2.75 to a newer blender like 2.81.
But I've been told it's impossible since I'm using the portable version and I can't export all my plug ins/add ons plus preferences.
Makes me sad.

Yes - Most KH3 Maps are like that, Its because of how many polygons are on each mesh & how many meshes there are, and thats not even the whole thing 100% since alot of models & props are missing with no way to get them

This looks amazing! I also love the worldbuilding in the description!
I was going to ask if I may use these ideas in a fanfic I'm working on, but a strict arena for attaining the Mark of Mastery doesn't really suit what I have in mind.

Sure if you want xD
This Exam Arena only exists in the Juniverse anyway xD (The Juniverse is my KH universe)

Thanks!
The aforementioned fanfic is an AU in which 'Master' isn't the only wielders can aspire to. There are three others;
Errant: Meddlers. Travel around, righting wrongs, learning.
Guardians: Wielders stationed on specific worlds of importance(such as where the 7 lights live)
Knights: Stationed on worlds that either know of other worlds or are part of the... keyblade civilization, for lack of a better term.
Still need to think of the exams for each title.
