Description Abelisaurus lends its name to a family of medium-sized theropod dinosaurs which roamed the semi-arid floodplains of the former Gondwana, such as Argentina and Madagascar, as well as the sub-tropical islands surrounding the Tethys sea. They all seemingly took the niche of the Tyrannosaurids of the former Laurasia (Especially North America and Asia) with their long legs ideal for fast running, very short front limbs (Even shorter and punier than those of T.rex) and short, blunt snouts and heads, yet most of them seemed to have small osteoderms running across their backs and flanks as opposed to the feathery plumage with which only the tyrannosaurs as coelurosaurs would have had. Many of the abelisaurs reached 4 to 7 meters in length and 2.5 to 3 m tall in height.  Along with the carcharodontosarids such as Giganotosaurus and Mapusaurus the abelisaurids would have possibly preyed upon the sauropods such as titanosaurs and rebbachisaurs and small ornithopods which were quite abundant in the southern continents at the time.

Here, because it hails from an exotic locale and must've been a top predator, I sought to give the Abelisaurus a color scheme consisting of bright yellowish orange for most of the body and throat, superimposed by a network of horizontal dark brown stripes running across the flanks, and I'll use this distinctive pattern and shades of orange, or red, gray, olive brown or anything in between for related animals such as Aucasaurus and Carnotaurus.
