Description
The Mk3 - APP ( Accelerated Particle Projector) code named the scorpion is not a laser based weapon nor does it use ballistics's.

The Aries- RC - TFP ( Radium Core Ternary Fission Pack ) as seen on the bottom of this weapon is a lead lined semi hollow shell encased in a thick non conductive polyurethane coating and acts as the housing for a series of small but very densely compacted radium mineral rods set between a row of electrical diode's that become statically charged and begin arching when the weapon system is activated.

When statically charged these mineral rods begin to rapidly deteriorate releasing a mixture of inert gas compounds, composed of radioactively charged particles into the open cavities between them. These gases are then gathered by 4 large receptor's located along the packs connection port and channeled through a magnetized relay system into the rear of the weapons primary focusing chamber as the system primes and pressurizes.

Once inside the primary focusing chamber these radioactive particles bombard a series of ionized collection screen's which then gather and concentrate their high levels of radiation into a small insulated reservoir set to the rear of the weapons barrel system. This reservoir is attached to a simple dial.. which rotates the master cylinder's projector to align with either the upper assault port ( for combat purposes ), or the lower utility port ( used for short range cutting ) and is accessible from both the left and right side of the weapon.. allowing the wielder to easily shift between the two separate modes of operation.

Upon pulling the trigger, the cylinder shifts forward.. contacting its projection port to the rear receptor of the wielders predesignated barrel.. upon contact the cylinder releases a pulsating photon stream comprised of highly concentrated proton particles which become rapidly accelerated as they travel down the barrels positively magnetized core gathering and condensing along the face of the external particle projector which is set at the barrels tip before suddenly and violently releasing under the force of magnetic stress against the condensed mass of accelerated protons. This erupt's from the weapons muzzle in a short yet very vibrant reddish purple blast of light... the flash accompanied by a sharp searing pop of the air.. and unbridled devastation to most everything it touches as the result of a rapid molecular destabilization which occurs upon impact..

However... This weapons range is very limited in comparison to most other weapons in its class with its total effective range coming in at around 50 - 60 yards or less... and is designed primarily for C.Q.B and mid range combat situations.. and is most often carried as a sidearm accompanying the Aries assault Rifle
