First of hopefully 3 tutorials for Toph's Fire Nation disguise! Here is how to make her bracelet/glove thingys.I reference a lot of different sewing techniques here, so here are some helpful links:

What type of fabric did you use for each part?

for the part that goes over the hand, it's a suiting fabric. for the rest of it i used kona cotton, which is that quilting fabric.

im sorry im on to start with her bracelets too but why did you put those "white fabric" in ? Is it needed?

the white fabric is interfacing and makes the main fabric more stiff. yes, you should use it because otherwise the bracelets won't be as sturdy and will probably look cheap.

it's called fusible interfacing. i used fusible thermolam in the tutorial which is much thicker. you don't always use it. medium weight interfacing is the most commonly used one. you don't usually put it in shirts, and you put it into the waistband and fly of pants usually.
